Lovesick Ellie Vol. 1

Pretty typical shoujo as a basis, but each of the characters over dramatizes their archetype to a point that it becomes hilarious. Obviously, it is written that way on purpose. Many awkward moments because of this over dramatic behaviour. Many over blown imaginations that lead to some pretty impressive, ridiculous "commentary" you could say. However, they do sneak in a serious moment every now and then, and they become all that more prominent with the state of the normal story being so over the top.

So kawaii!!! Cute cute cute! This is shoujo manga done right! Our girl is a total delusional perv and I love it! Omi-kun seems to have been hurt before and has a fake Prince Charming façade going on to mask his true curt personality, but the two of them together... Oh god the feels!!! Going right onto vol. 2. See you there 😚

This manga is one I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. But I was pleasantly surprised. This manga has the meek girl and the popular guy getting together trope which can be a hit or miss for me personally but this was a hit. My only issues I had were that there was quite a bit repetitiveness and occurred and miscommunication. Overall, I enjoyed myself and am curious what the rest of the series brings. 3.5 out of 5 stars

I love how awkward "Ellie" is in this series! I couldn't stop laughing! Great book! Ready to read the next volume and then some!
