NiteLighter NL50 Halogen Discontinued, White

First I give it 3 stars cause it did light the entire 15x30 foot pool well enough for an over the side light when we first received it.. I used for about 45 days last year... i bought it in August of 2019... I built a mount where we can hang it over the side of pool over the top cap. This kept the water below the water level indicator to ensure rain and whatever wouldn't go over the mark. The mark is a little lower then we keep our pool level so this home made mount was needed. We also removed the light and stored it in a dry deck box when we weren't using it.. in hopes this would help with its life. That wasn't the case at all.. this year only about half of the LED's came on at all.. it sort of still lights up the water but I am not going to buy this one again... We had everything all the other buyers had.. condensation on the inside of plastic cover... it isn't weighted so it floats around unless you build a nice mount like we did that hold it nice and tight in place. like i said it worked great out of box but deteriorates fast... keep in mind as well.. I didn't use this every night.. we don't night swim every night.. I only used it on weekends "maybe" while we were entertaining to light up the pool for "effects" or an occasional night swim. Nobody paid me for this review, that's why waited the 1yr, to review. It will go into the garbage this year.. and i'll look for light i can place in my steps that's fully submersible...

This light is super bright. I have an 18’ round pool. This lights the entire pool very brilliantly. I can’t give a full review at this point, as it is brand new. It is the LED type with 750 lumens = 50 watts. I did not receive the halogen type as described. That is perfectly fine with me. There is an insert that says it is factory sealed, and not to try and open it. So, we will see if it leaks and if I have to put any type of extra sealer on it in time like other reviewers have mentioned. I’m very hopeful that this light will last us at least several swim seasons. It seems well made.***This light has a small on/off button and automatically turns off after 2 hours.My husband and I had to make a small modification to the resin rail underneath the top rail of our pool in order for it to slip over our pool wall. For this I gave it a 3 star rating for installation. But it wasn’t that big of a deal when compared to cutting into your wall. May change to 5 stars if it doesn’t develop leaking issues.

After reading reviews and seeing most people seemed to be happy with this purchase, I decided to give it a shot. We bought the 50 watts system to see how we like it while planning on buying the 100 watt system next if it makes it through the summer. We went ahead and caulked the seams on the outside of the light and the backside of the light as a precaution since leaking seems to be the biggest problems people report. Our pool is 24 ft round and I am extremely happy with this light! It is perfect! No more swimming in a pool at night and being unable to see what you may be swimming with. If this light holds up through the summer we will be upgrading next year to 100 watts just because I like light! The more light the better. But for the price we are extremely happy with the 50 watt light!

After reading all the reviews about water getting into the housing, Fresh out of the box I tightened the cover and put it in the pool for a few days, I then removed it and opened it. It was dry but I wanted to make sure it never leaked so I decided to replace the halogen bulb with an led bulb and silicone the unit shut.. I used enough clear silicone to seal it and be able to open it when the bulb ever burns out, don't forget to use silicone on both sides of the gasket. So far this is holding up great and a lot brighter than I thought it was going to be. I hope this can help others that buy this light out.

Just put it in my pool lights up nicely the only thing is it has a yellow tint to it. I thought I was getting white light l did read some reviews about the yellow tint but i thought this was a different model it's hard to tell from the photos. I'll probably keep it i need a light and don't feel like going through the return process. OK for $68.

I love my new pool light. Lights up my 21' round pool perfectly. It was easy to install, no leaks, and looks to be made well. I would highly recommend this. As you can see from the image it is nice and bright.UPDATE: This light did end up leaking on us. So we changed out the light for a LED and sealed it shut with silicone. The light works perfectly now. 2nd image is with the new LED light in it. Gives off a much brighter blue color. I am very happy with my light even if I had to make a few changes to it. I still think it is worth the money.

After reading reviews I was concerned. Installing was not extremely easy, but got it to work. The light is bright enough to cover our 22' round pool very well. So far no leaks & it works well. The timer isn't great to have if you're in the middle of swimming after dark. All in all it's a good investment.

This is my third Nitelighter in 7 years. Last one I bought in 2014, so they don't have a reliable life span. In the past I've had residual water inside the housing so this time I took precautions. I got a 100w bulb to replace the 50w that came with it and added 100% silicon to the gasket and hand cranked it shut, sealing it forever. We use it nearly every night (24ft oval above ground) during the summer months. I'll update if my plan backfires or the plastic light from China stops working. Pools are lots of work and this light has given me plenty of grief.

Very happy with the build quality. Even though this was made for an above ground pool, with modifications I install it as a removable light in my 50,000 liter in ground pool at the long end. Have used it 2 seasons and still going strong. I had thought I would need 2 but turns out that it is perfect for illuminating for night swims. Beats jumping into an ink black pool at night.

Bright light, but filled with water after two months. Did not trust water and electricity. No way to remove water, so I had to throw in Garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT!!!

These items arrived ahead of schedule and exceeded my expectations. They were very easy to install and very bright. I used two to light my 15' x 30' pool which was perfect
