Thomas & Friends Engineer Hat / Cap

This is a very well made product, unlike cheaply made costume that I saw somewhere. It's sewn well and I can expect this product to last long. I purchased this hat for Halloween for my almost 3 year old son. I made Thomas the tank engine costume with a cardboard box and I put this cap and a bandana (just a blue handcachief I already had) on him and that completed the outfit for the Halloween. We were in the kids parade and so many people (strangers) walked up to us and asked if they could take his picture. We received lots of compliments. Now that Halloween is over, my son enjoys wearing this hat "just because". It's a nice hat and he could just use this to go to park or any place. As for the size, it is BIg. It has elastic band in the rear part, but it would probably be another year or two before this hat "fits" well on my son's head (I tried on and my head could fit in this hat, I do have a small head though). Despite the extremely large size for a toddler hat, my son loves this hat and the looseness doesn't bother me much. If you want a Thomas hat, go with this one, not any other less expensive ones. Highly recommended.

Our son has a really big head for a close-to-3-year-old. This hat was nice and big. Even though it is not adjustable, it does have a stretchy elastic band that runs around it, with extra space in the back. If you are worried about it running small, don't fret! It runs big even if your child has a huge head like ours! It is very good quality hat. Perfect for a Day out with Thomas!

Bought this Thomas the Train Engineer hat for our 3 year old great grandson who loves trains and especially Thomas and friends. This hat is absolutely adorable. He loves it and loves to wear it wen playing with his trains he is so excited he is a real conductor so he thinks. The hat is made very well no loose threads. or missing stitches on the seams. It is made very well The embroidery name Thomas is stitches in red and navy blue, there is a Thomas the tank embroidered above that and on each side a yellow and orange patch R X R. There is elastic in the back of the hat. The material is not light and flimsy but a heavier material that tell me it will hold up for years to come.

My three year old love’s Thomas, so when we went to Thomas day at Henry Ford and I pulled this hat out he was so excited. He wouldn’t take it off.

The hat was exactly as pictured and the reviews said it was a good fit for a 3yo and adjustable. I purchased for first birthday photos for my 11 mo son. He fits in 18 months clothing and has an enormous head so I thought it would still work even if it was a little big. The hat was adorable and of really good quality but it was HUGE! It was too big for my 7yo and I wear a size small/medium woman's hat and it fit me. The "adjustable" part is an elastic in the back to make it stretch, but not make it smaller. This is why I'm giving 4 stars, not 5. Thankfully I can sew and was able to fold over and tack down the back to make the band smaller. I would still recommend this to a friend!UPDATE 2/25/16:My LO is 19 mos now and has a huge head. This almost fits him now. He fits in 2T hats in other brands. He LOVES it. He's starting to recognize characters and when he plays with his little Thomas train, he always seeks out this hat to wear while playing. I've washed it a few times and it still looks new. So happy I splurged on this!

Hat is super cute - I bought this as the special hat for my son to wear for his Thomas birthday party and a bunch of other plain hats for his guests. They all matched well in photos so that is what matters in the long run! Hat fit my 3 year old well - but he has a big head so might not be the same for all. I think the hat will last him a few years as it does stretch to fit.The patches are pretty cute and don't look bad. Some Thomas designs look cheap, but this was OK in my opinion.

I purchased this hat for my 3 year old daughter to attend Day Out with Thomas. It is a little large for a 3yo but it just says general child size so I didn't expect it to be perfect. I was just glad it wasn't to small because her head will grow. These are not the hats that you can purchase at the event, but they are cheaper. Good quality, I fully expect it to still be legible for next years day out even with her wearing it ALL the time. There is a little elastic band at the back too so that's nice. My little engineer gives it two thumbs up!

It was just a tad big for my 18 month old when we bought it, but he doesn’t care and he’ll grow into it soon enough. He wears it forward, backward, and sideways - he’s always asking for his “Thomas hat” when we go outside. He doesn’t tend to throw this hat in the ground when he gets angry, so it hasn’t gotten that dirty. The structure seems like it would do well in a delicates cycle, but I have not tried this myself.
