Sling is a size medium ( no size given in description). Is just what is needed for recovery from shoulder surgery.

terrible torture devise
First you have surgery and they say not to move your arm/shoulder so that is not a very comfortable place in which to be. The day after I started wearing the sling, I started to itch anyplace which touched the sling...my arm, my shoulder, my back. Doctor had never heard of this happening so just told me to take benadryill.I'm not sure who this product was make to designed to fit, but it was certainly not made for a moderate sized woman. No matter how I adjusted the sling, my elbow would not fit into the space made for it. The sling has many velcro straps and closures all designed to immobilize one's arm and shoulder. These are not just an average velcro, but a super heavy duty kind. When one tries to get ones arm in the sling, every time you let go of a section the velcro adheres to another section. Having just one hand that works it's really really hard to pull the velcro apart. Even when I had help, it was so frustrating that my spouse could not make it work either.I had to put a washcloth between the shoulder strap and my neck as a considerate amount to weight from the sling rests again the shoulder. (Not to mention the itching.) I had to put a piece of cloth inside the sling in order to be able to keep it on. (Again the itching) If one is sweaty at all the sling gets damp and does not dry.The pillow which holds the sling up has a velcro belt which goes around the waist. That belt collapsed after about a day of wear leaving the pillow sticking out at an awkward angle and needing to be carefully watched in order not to run to things.I don't think anyone who recommends this sling has worn it for more than a few minutes. If they had they would not be recommending it. It has so many shortcomings that it makes it almost impossible to use for any length of time.

Looks impressive, but not worth it
This thing was put on me when I had rotator cuff surgery. No instructions with it. I've been looking online for directions. So many damned Velcro adjusting things on it and all are F'ing uncomfortable. The tie-down for the exercise ball is in an ridiculous location. I want to be able to adjust the angle of my elbow but it's difficult. I'm sleeping in the recliner, which isn't bad, but when I take the sling off to do the PT exercises, hurts like hell.Insurance approved of this sling. Just goes to prove that insurance does NOT work for the good of the individual. I will probably be crippled for the rest of my life.

Good Product; Poor Design
As others have said, I didn't purchase this product by choice; I received mine in the recovery room of my local hospital after breaking my shoulder blade. I can't wait to see the orthopedic doctor that discharged me with this product; I am hoping that he can help me find a better option. I have only been wearing this for a little over a week and I am going to have to change the straps before I see the doctor, because they are very narrow and are bunching up something terrible. Good luck to anyone finding that they have to use this sort of product. Pros - It supports my arm; it restricts unnecessary movement; Exercise ball a plus. Cons - The straps are very uncomfortable; it gets very warm (I daresay hot); One strap velcros on inside of sling causing great irritation (remedied by putting washcloth inside sling).

ultra sling II SHOULDER IMMOBILIZER
This shoulder immobilizer was provided by the hospital following my shoulder replacement surgery and rotator cup repair a week ago. So far it is doing what it is designed to do. Definitely get the seat belt sheep's wool pad. I thought of it the first time they put the brace on me. Feels a lot more comfortable. well made.

UltraSling II.....very good, but not great.
Since I've never needed a shoulder immobilizing sling before, this is my first experience with this type of device. The device is very well made and is infinitely adjustable through the use of the Velcro straps. You can certainly shorten each strap to really hold your arm, shoulder, wrist into place, or loosen them for more comfort as your recovery progresses. I very high quality product. I'm two weeks into a biceps tendosis and rotator cuff repair and these are my comments:1. I'm having the most trouble with the firmness of the foam insert, the pressure on the underside of the arm against the pad is tiresome and painful by the end of the day. Sleeping with the unit is no fun, but once I'm out I usually don't wake unit morning. I personally would prefer a softer foam material to more evenly spread the pressure, but I'm sure this density of foam was selected by the manufacturer for a reason.2. Yep, the first thing I did was go out to my truck and swipe the fake lambskin neck protector from the seat belt! Sorry guys, your OE padded strap wore a raw spot in my next after three days.3. Now that my doctor no longer requires the use of the annoying abduction pillow I'd love to remove it....but I can't because it contains the mounting points for the waist strap. Since I've come this far I don't want to risk the repair job for the remaining 4-6 weeks of the recovery, I'm now shopping for a new sling without a pillow. Sad, this product would have been perfect otherwise.4. I know what others mean regarding the rather rough material inside the pouch (picture a coarse terry cloth material), my recovery is during winter and I'm wearing soft flannel shirts that offer an excellent buffer.5. The exercise ball is held in place by Velcro straps and can be relocated as needed, I removed mine as it just got in the way. I just keep a ball handy (the supplied ball was rather firm...I see a trend here) and use it as needed.
