This Calder Range

From the finding of a promising ranch site to the rounding up of wild longhorn cattle to stock it, the trip west with a new bride and a herd of cows, the establishing of a home on the ranch, the birth of two sons in the initial log cabin and the building of a grand ranch house, it is a riveting story of love, strength of purpose and determination that epitomized the first settlers in the west.

I thought the book was a realistic representation of the time period and the hardships of the time. I look forward to the rest of the series.

I first got these books in the 80s during a time when reading in my life was to unwind from long days, and Moms busy times when we have no time for ourselvesand have read them over and over again. They tell you some of the hard times about this great country's beginnings,. I never tire of these kind of books. They are the life's blood and back bone of us all. I miss the great days when having a paper book was a joy to have in you hand.

This is another masterpiece by Mrs Dailey. Benteen is ?Strong, Bad, Confident; yet vulnerable. Only Authors of a few Authors are capable of combining the ingredients for a Hero like this; semlessly wolven into a great Story. Five plus stars! You get what you pay for.

I have to admit I wasn't that keen on reading this series. It was suggested by my husband and when he said western I thought oh no a western but I was so wrong! I love them and can not get enough of the Calder range and life. If anything I am disappointed that all of the series is not available for Kindle and that I may have to wait to finish the series up. This is not only a story about the west but it involves true love and heartbreak that the west brought. It covers several generations of the Calder's and it is a must read for anyone that loves to curl up to a good book and just read. In less then a week's time I have been through 3 of these books and I can't wait to see what happens next. This Calder Range

Have recieved your product in better than listed condition, it arrived in record time with many thanks as this is one of the "hard" to find books that is to compete my Clader series which I have looked for over the years. I must confess, I had not started the series due to the dislike of starting one only to find I don't have the whole series and once my co-worker set me on to this way of finding them, we are all going to benefit as we pass our books around. The Calder Series is the single best series ever written! I bought the entire series as soon as I got my Kindle Fire HDX as my hard copy series was showing extensive wear. So, it's off to Goodwill for the hardcopy series!This book has kept me reading almost non-stop! I just can't put it down! Definatly recommend!

I read this book and many other in this series when I was young. This time some 40 years later, I found it to be equally enjoyable. I have always been partial to western romance stories... and Janet Dailey is a wonderful writer, thank you💙
