ZillaPet Terrarium Rock Den, X-Large

I bought this LARGE hide for the cool part of the vivarium for my baby boa. The enclosure gets misted lightly everyday. It has not been a month yet (I received the item Dec 20 and started on my bioactive vivarium immediately), but this hide has already cracked down the middle top. It has not been taken out of the enclosure at all! The humidity in the enclosure is about only 50%. I think this hide is not designed for bioactive vivariums where it will receive period misting and heat. Probably suitable only in dry enclosures. So disappointed as this hide was beautiful!

I actually like using the small versions of these when my ball was young and had no problems. However, moving up to the larger size, these have become a problem. The protrusion in the second picture is the main culprit. My ball now has a long scar down one side of it's body from rubbing against this as it's inside the hide. In addition, despite the bubble wrap packaging, these always come with some damage and cracks causing sharp edges. I have had to toss these for my ball's safety.

I would give this a 3.5 if I could. It has a good heft to it and the external texture and paint is quite realistic. However, I'm a little disappointed by how sharp the edges on the inside are (shown in pictures). There were also a few flakes that came off when I pushed at them on the inside. This should be a relatively easy fix, just sanding it down, but I wish the inside lip had a better finish that doesn't pose potential harm to my snake so it was ready to use when it arrived.

Love it! I have a 40 gallon and a 3 month old spider ball python it fits him very well. Very durable and easy to clean. Will order bigger size after Niko gets bigger.

Item is great but packaging is pathetic - it came in broken in 2 since it was put in a bag - not sure if Amazon or manufacturer does that - n it should be marked fragile.**I ended up gluing it together and it’s holding fine - I would not recommend using any glue that will be toxic to your pets. I had odorless glue and let it cure, air out and washed and inspected again before use. You can alway use salt water coral glue as it’s safe for live specimen. I am not an expert, just my thought.

Don’t waste your money. If I could give zero stars, I would. Product will either come cracked or crack the moment you touch each. EXTREMELY weak and not durable. Regardless on how well the packaging is or looks, it breaks.

The hide in my ball python's tank was dropped by my daughter during a spot clean of the tank and I needed a new one fast. I ordered this one, it took three days to even ship then when I got it it was broken. It was wrapped very very well in several layers of bubble-wrap so the damage obviously existed before it was shipped. There were multiple chips around the edge that my snake could have cut herself on and there was a crack running right across the top of it. So overall, one star because zero isn't an option. That hide could have been great if it hadn't been shipped to me already broken.

It’s a good basking rock. Opening is smaller than I expected for an extra large. Older bearded dragon doesn’t fit through it but enjoys basking on it. Overall good addition.

This item is a fine addition to my sons bearded dragon terrarium. Arrived quickly and as described.

While it turns out that my baby Boa isn't one for using hides, this is a great looking hide with a rough exterior that she can rub against to help with shed removal.

Arrived in about 5 pieces, will probably be able to glue back together. If using as a snake den, will have to spend a bit of time removing sharp edges, best to use a sponge emery board.
