Henry Moore's Sheep Sketchbook

Great book. Beautiful illustrations.

by the end, you know which sheep is which, and that is what this extended looking at one thing is all about. It is like a love song to a linear approach to a single subject, and as such is so revealing. When you have "nothing do draw" syndrome, you flip this open and look to see what Henry Moore made out of some nearby sheep and you realize there are lots of things you can draw... over and over again.

This is a beautiful book where we see the famous sculptor just sitting and looking through the window of his summer home, drawing the sheep.As he relates in the text, gradually the amorphous beings become more and more detailed. The facial expressions in particular have a range of feeling I find fascinating. So happy I have this book.

This is exactly what it says it is a "sketchbook." Sheep sketched in different poses, nothing fancy. If you want to learn to sketch sheep this book can give you a good start. If your looking for beautiful photos of sheep get the book called "Beautiful Sheep." You will see some beautifully photographed pages of sheep in all their glory.

I think these sketches of sheep are charming. I understand he did these sketches for his daughter.

Great book that documents the observations, reflections, thoughts of the great artist Henry Moore. Helped to inspire my own panting on sheep.

Love the book- drawings are exceptional

I've always been a fan of Henry Moore's sculptures, but I absolutely love his sheep drawings. The pages have been copied impeccably, capturing even the stray marks of his sketchbook.

The book is full of Moore's stunning sketches and has been reproduced as the original book. I had seen a friend's copy so knew what to expect. Although it was supposed to be second hand it was in brand new condition. I think it must have only been skimmed through once as the pages had that unturned appearance. The description of it's condition was accurate and I would definitely use this seller again.

Having visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park I was interested to see Henry Moore's Sheep Sketchbook. It's a lovely little book of a subject held dear - living in an area where sheep roam free.

It was a present for an artist friend who loves sheep. She was delighted.
