I got this, not to play ball with, but to use to self-adjust the vertebrae in my lower back.I had been using a tennis ball, and eventually graduated to a slightly larger ball - a softball-sized ball, about 4" in diameter, but filled with air, and not as firm as a real softball.I did get relief from both of those, but not the complete relief I hoped to get, and just felt that possibly a firmer ball, and maybe a little bigger than a baseball; in other words, a real softball, might be in order.It arrived in the mail today, and I just used it for the first time a few minutes ago.I want to tell you, as much grief as my back has been giving me - for a very long time - and very painful and frustrating, I felt almost desperate to find something that worked.Just in about 30 seconds of lying on my back on the floor, with the ball under my back, by raising my legs and drawing my knees back toward my head, after just two or three crunches of my lower back vertebrae, my back feels absolutely wonderful.I don't know if this will be strictly a one-time thing, or something that I can do often - whenever I feel the need for it - but in any event, the way my back feels at this moment, I feel almost like I've been "born again!"Not really, but it does feel wonderful.I went to a chiropractor for over two years, with more than 75 visits, and never felt anything approaching what 30 seconds on the floor with a real softball has done for me.May it only continue, forever!!!

The ball is a little bit spongier than a normal softball and it's exactly the kind they use in my daughter's instructional league. The ball does not fly as fast off of the bat and it does not hurt as hard when you get hit with it.

A softie that was the right size for my foot exercise after my surgery. Well made. Would make a great training ball for a kid that’s afraid of getting hit with a hard softball.

I bought this item with the idea of possibly playing a causal softball game with a church group to minimize any possible injury from not reacting fast enough to a batted ball yet good enough to not sully gameplay. This soft touch ball does what I need it to do. You get a dozen balls. They have raised laces. It feels like the outer core of the ball is wound in cloth for softer contact but the inner core is solid enough where the ball travels off the bat fine. I also use these as batting practice balls and they work fine and travel well off the bat, possibly a small reduction in flight but not noticeable unless you're trying to scorch a ball off the bat, in which case you wouldn't get using these soft touchballs.I would recommend these to anyone looking for a safer softball in practice or a causal game at the park or yard. PLEASE use the same caution as if you were using a normal softball. You are more likely to bruise than break a bone with this ball but it will still hurt if you get hit and it will still break a window if it is hit. The purpose is to reduce the possibility of a more serious injury. I would recommend this soft touch ball.

Durable and soft.

What I mean by versatile, is this is the regulation 11 inch ball size, almost exact same weight, but is just a Titch softer. Makes any missed catches much less painful. I bought it specifically to train with my daughter in racquetball courts in the winter, and it's not loud on the walls when catches are missed, and does not seem like it will damage anything in the courts either. We used it for several months in this setting with no problem. NOT bouncy enough to throw and return like a tennis ball or something, just much more court friendly than a regular hard ball.

Great product, we use these for indoor softball. Its soft and somewhat softer than a normal softball. Great for training or indoor use.

This is for 1 ball, not 12. Ball is fine product description is terrible.
