Nice clock but description is wrong
I love the look and size of this clock. The display is large enough and the alarm is loud. It is very basic and easy to use. The only problem is that the clock is not what the description says it is. The back light only comes on when you push the "snooze/light" button and the light is not very bright. I need a clock with the light always on as I wake up at night and want to know the time. This would be difficult for me with this clock because my clock is not at my bedside (so that I have to get out of bed to turn off the alarm in the am). Also, it is only battery powered. You can use one AA or a 9 volt, but there is no way to plug it into the wall. I was fine with this because I wanted a battery-powered clock but, as I mentioned, the description was misleading. I will be returning the clock because of the light issue.

Silver one fantastic - black one terrible
Previous review was for the SILVER version : sturdy little battery-sipping clock. This clock is loud enough to wake the dead but still relies on batteries so gives no/low EMF at night, and can be easily taken for travel. Mine has been dropped or tossed many times and still works. Be aware--if the batteries are dying, the clock volume drops dramatically. Great little clock.Update: I bought the black one, the current version, after my silver finally died. Well, technically it didn't die, but will not show the first time digit any more. Equity, why, why?!!! The black is NOT the same. It is cheap plastic that cracked on the first drop. The alarm is not that loud, and it eats batteries. It also takes the tiniest motor skills to set the alarm on its cheap slide switch - it does not have the large easy set buttons any more. And the switch moves and gets bumped when you look at it wrong, skewing your alarms and time settings constantly. It has one big snooze and anything else you wanna change, get your readers and your teen to do it for you because it just SUCKS! The snooze glow is also blue, bright and offensive to look at in the night, it is not a soft greenish glow any more. This is the lousiest remake of a product I think I've ever seen and that includes benefit brow makeup and the electric catbox - worse redo than even them! Also watch out, while AZ is honest about the clock version being the black one, other people are out on large-auctions and automotive sites selling the old silver but shipping the black one.

Nice battery-operated clock
I was looking for a replacement for my battery-operated clock that recently died. This one was a good choice. I agree with the other reviewer that the display could be brighter, but I imagine that would burn the battery too quickly. I only need to hit the button to light it up, and if I'm hitting that button, chances are the room is dark because it's early morning. So far I have no complaints except that I was hoping the display would be a bit brighter, but it is bright enough to see at night when you need to. Seems to keep time accurately, unlike some other battery-operated clocks.

Attention Heavy Sleepers!
This clock is literally perfect! Well almost... The display could be a smidge brighter, but the controls are simple, it WILL wake you up, and it's very loud on the loud setting. My only gripe is when you are flailing about in the morning to shut the annoyance off before you lose your mind, you may successfully knock the unit onto the floor and spend 5 minutes fishing around in the dark for the battery compartment that easily falls off. Other than that, it does the job quite well and it's reliable.

Good Clock, Bad Alarm !!!
This is a good clock, but a bad alarm, its not as loud as stated and the repeat cycle for the alarm is not long, in fact I beleive it doesn't repeat after the first one...but for a table clock its not that bad....

Great for hearing impaired.
This is one of the few alarm clocks that work for me. Having a hearing problem, most alarm clocks are not loud enough to wake me. This alarm has a choice of loud, or regular volume settings. The loud is plenty loud for someone with 50% hearing loss to hear. (at least for me) Have been using these for years, and never travel without it.

Light?
This product display leads the buyer to think that the display is lighted at night. It is only lighted when a button is pressed! Hence, when you wake up in the middle of the night and look at the clock expecting to get the time, you have to reach over, push a button and then read the display. Not what I expected.
