Becoming Outdated?
I love the format of this book. The author speaks from a easy-to-follow and everyday consumer point of view. Starting from the basics (turning the Zune on) it proceeds from the easiest workings to its most advanced. Well outlined! The wit and honest opinions included made for nice reading. However, I found only half of this book useful. Why? Information (esp., problem solving) in it is becoming outdated, IF you have been updating your Zune online. That is, using Zune Marketplace, which asks you to "update now" perdiodically before you can proceed. The information for downloading YouTube vids was useless. Er, mostly useless. I tried every suggestion and ended up using a website the book recommended for help. And I found help with my own online searches. Even the information given on the opening Zune screen is outdated, as since my last Zune update, my basic screen no longer looks as shown in the book. Technology marches on. But being <<some>> knowledgable in the workings of gadgets, I was able to use the information, with online searches to fix a few problems. I wish the author pointed out the free podcast downloads available to the Zune, through Zune Marketplace. And how to use the ZM, because ZM doesn't have a help or first users tutorial. BAH! Maybe the ZM was not offering the freebees when the author researched? I would love to see this manual updated, as I, again, loved the author's manner of speaking. The book seemed more like a sort of enjoyable, entertaining tome rather than an boring educational read.

this is not the "dummies" book I wished to order ...
this is not the "dummies" book I wished to order. the copyright on this book is 2007, I have a newer zune hd 32. checking the dummies book, has a copyright of 2007 also. would not be much help either. believe you might download a owners manual from Microsoft. some of this book was helpful but it is for older models of zune.

Great resource for Zune!
This book is great. My husband and I both read it and found it extremely helpful and easy to read (great informative pictures). We have the original 30gb Zune model-which is what the book covers. If you have the 2nd generation Zune, it may not be quite as helpful-we can only attest to its value for people who have the 30gb version. We bought two more copies for gifts to other family memebers who own the 30gb Zune. You will learn a lot!

Written Instructions That Microsoft Never Provided
Just operating a Zune straight out of the box may be easy for a teenager but, for the "mature" user, a manual that you can actually read is so much better.I found this an easy read and quickly helped me get up and running with the Zune.I recommend this to anyone above the age of 13. ;-)

Use online help instead
This was a good book, but the Zune 30 doesn't work with Windows 7 so it wasn't that helpful. I made a mistake buying the Zune 30 so the book was of no use. If you do need help I'd recommend online help.
