Bonide Molemax Animal Repellent Stake For Gophers and Moles, Battery Operated, Humane Repellent

These work fantastic. We had been overrun by "Ground Squirrels" - i.e. burrowing rodents. These live in the ground in independent "family" digs (no pun intended.) They forage for green growies - two years ago the population on our place EXPLODED! There were dozens x dozens - and they are are a dining delicacy to Badgers - which dig even BIGGER holes foraging for THEIR favorite food. Our place looked like a bombed out war zone where Badgers had dug holes that would break your leg if you weren't paying attention and fell into one. By applying these Bonide Repellent Stakes last year the "bomb" craters did not reappear in those treated areas. This year I purchased twice as many and so far we haven't seen any Ground Squirrels within or close to the areas that have a Repellent Stake. God Bless Bonide 61119. Bought 2 a year ago when a woodchuck in the garden was a problem. They drove it away. Bought 2 more this year because of an over population of chipmunks. Placing the 4 units so their signal overlaps has definitely convinced a number of chipmunks to leave our yard. Instead of seeing a parade of chipmunks all day we are only seeing one occasionally and usually it’s on the run, and not sticking around.

We have voles (yes voles, NOT moles), & once we put this into the ground, they have gone elsewhere. Not sure on how long the battery life lasts, but it does it's job.

I purchased 4 of these to help deter voles from entering our garden. The good news is that I think these are helping to deter the voles, but also need to call out that I have multiple layers of defense: buried hardware cloth, castor oil and poison bait station. Believe it or not the buried hardware (+12" deep) was not enough to deter all of the voles. Everything I've read tells me voles don't dig very deep, but apparently we have a few voles that didn't get the memo or they used a previous ground hog burrow. In any case, I added the Sonic Spikes to my defenses and no more voles. Now the bad news: Don't try to install these in areas where clay soil retains water; they will fail. Works OK in soil that gets moist, but they flood from the bottom if they sit in water. Great customer service from Bonide. They refunded me for purchase of the failed spikes...I tried twice in the same location, flood/fail both times.

I use it in combination with the windmill I got here too, and at last I'm getting grass back in my back yard.

2nd one and still going strong. I have had no issues with these little buggers since I placed it in the ground. I had to replace the prior one that I had for about 3 years and I sought to ensure that I could replace it with the same brand. I can hear it going strong from my living room window. All I can state is that it works. I did this for the front of my yard and side area.

Excellent after several months going strong and not a dopher in sight.
