Wall Hanging Ship Bell 4", Silver Chrome

Does anyone know how to remove the salt corrosion that builds up on this bell? I've had it outside for about a year and it became covered with salt corrosion and the little screw/nuts on top are rusted. I guess it's not really designed for outside near the ocean. I did try lemon juice and that took away the roughness from the salt, but the shiny chrome finished seems to be forever gone. Any suggestions? I like the bell, but I'm bummed that it's so ugly now.

The cream colored material handle u pull to ring arrived dirty.

The mounting bracket doesn't hold the bell far enough out from the wall, so the bell is pressed up against the wall side of the bracket & can't ring properly. Also, the wall side of the mounting bracket is rounded, so it cannot mount flush against a flat wall. It blows my mind that anyone could sell something so poorly designed. I highly advise against wasting time with this. I'm sending mine back.

We bought this for the grandson's 2 story play fort that will be decked out like a pirate ship. My two and half year old grandson will be very easy to find once we get the bell put up :) it has a nice sound, and we are grateful for that :)

Cute small sized ship bell. Using on my kids playground. I like the woven rope pull. Very safe since it has no loop and is not a strangulation hazard . Seems like it is very sturdy.
