Soccer: A Nonfiction Companion to Magic Tree House Merlin Mission #24: Soccer on Sunday (Magic Tree House Fact Tracker)

Book arrived, coincidentally, at the same time I began working with a new student (learning to read) who is a serious soccer fan along with his big brothers and the World Cup was beginning!! We have been sharing the book (I read to him) every time we've met the past few weeks and loving it! I think he's hooked!! Perfect timing for this beginning reader and the information is current and timely!!

I bought this book for our elementary school's library and I think some students will enjoy it. The problem I have with it is that Cristiano Ronaldo did not even merit a page or two as did Messi, Casillas, Rooney and Pele. There was no excuse for that as this is a very current book and he is a major star in international soccer, bigger even than those mentioned except maybe for Pele. Obviously, the authors are not soccer fans as everyone in the world knows Cristiano Ronaldo and I know many of the boys will be disappointed that more was not written about him.

My daughter was glad I had ordered the Fact Tracker soccer book as well as the story version for her son Since I know nothing about the game, I intend to read the book before I give it to her. What would the World Cup games be if the viewers did not know the fine points of what is happening on the field. Dull.

I use this in class like all the Magic Tree books. Good balance of fiction and non fiction reading that the students love.

This is a wonderful book to help youngsters learn about the sport of soccer. There are wonderful stories, facts, and knowledge that is essential to understand the game - easily laid out for young readers. We distributed this during our summer camp and our students loved it. I highly, highly recommend this book - well done!

We have the entire magic tree house series in our 3rd grader's home library. So for my 8yr old son who is crazy abt soccer this purchase was a gift this summer. He has read it couple of times. It goes well with Soccer Sunday book.

It is exactly what I expected. It is a great resource for Soccer on Sunday.

Great writer of kids books. My ten year old started reading her five years ago. He has moved on to more advanced books but still is not ready to give up Magic Tree House.
