An Outstanding Hardshell Case
Let me start this review with a point that needs to be brought up. This is a universal hard shell case, it can be used for anything such as camera equipment, precision equipment and instruments, firearms or anything you would like to make sure is protected well when traveling. I've seen reviewers giving this hard case a lower review because it wouldn't fit their DJI Phantom drone. First off this is not a case specifically designed for drones or quad copters. Second I did purchase this case with the intentions of using for daily transport of my Phantom 3 Professional. It is an affordable alternative to cases that cost several more times as much as the Multicomp Case. After researching and taking things into careful consideration I decided on this case for a multitude of reasons.Let's answer some questions, will this fit a Phantom 2-3 drone, the short version is yes. With some creative trimming of the pre-inserted foam, yes your Phantom (with props removed) will fit and be safe. It's a tight fit but this case is a good alternative to a Pelican or Nanuk case which run anywhere from $159 to $299. So if you're looking for a more affordable case for your quad copter this is a viable option. Now let's look at the case itself. It is a hard shell, foam lined case that has "pluck and pull" foam layers. The lid has egg crate foam that is soft to medium density. The construction of the case is made of thick fiber reinforced plastic, the case also includes rubber O-ring seal keeps out moisture and also is self venting. The case is lockable via a pad lock making it suitable for traveling. There is little to no flex in the lid, the construction is robust the corners and areas that usually fail, such as the corners and hinges is reinforced with thick plastic increasing its durability. Overall I would feel very comfortable traveling or shipping my belongings in this case. It will hold up to the abuse of baggage handlers and UPS/FEDEX drivers. If you are looking for a quality made hard shell case for storing or transporting an item look no further than here! Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase I plan on purchasing more cases from Multicomp, the quality to cost ratio is outstanding and these cases will hold up to the environment and any type of abuse you can throw at it.

Good case for the IC 7300 and Accessories
Got the MCM case yesterday and cut foam today. So far, I am very pleased. Basically, the case, latches, handle, etc. feel sturdy. There appears to be an o-ring that seals it water-tight (haven't tested it). In fact, to close the case, you must press down on the lid to engage the o-ring and then, the latches engage firmly. The foam comes in 5 layers. In the lid is 1 - 2 inch cushioned (bumpy, pointed, whatever) foam. In the middle are three 2 inch layers of cubed foam. The bottom of the case contains another 1 - 2 inch layer of flat foam. Customizing the foam was relatively easy. I traced each item (radio, ATU, ACPS) by layer with a dry erase marker and followed the trace to score the perforated/cubed foam lines with a large bread knife. I then removed the appropriate cubes from each layer. Layer 3 (lowest) was cut to hold my MFJ 939I auto tuner and cables. I cut the middle layer (2) to hold the bottom of the IC 7300. The top (1st) layer was cut to hold the radio, MFJ Mighty-Lite ACPS, cord and the stock mic. So, on the bottom layer I can carry the ATU. With all layers installed, I can carry the ATU, radio, ACPS, associated cables and mic.I'll include some somewhat out of focus pictures taken hastily with my cell phone. For $68, this will protect my radio and associated equipment far better than the old computer bag, etc. Is this as good as a Pelican costing 3 - 4 times as much? Not sure. For the most part, my radio will be traveling to and from Florida, field day but not going on tour with a rock band. I am well satisfied!

Great Wicked Edge case
I would say this is worth the price, howeve there are a few things I would have liked to have seen that would have put this at a full 5 star for me.While I haven't used this under hard use, and I've only had it for a short time, it seems to be built very well. I have no doubt it will protect whatever is inside. When I recieved the box, I grabbed the handle and had a sharp edge catch my finger. It appears that where the mold was poured for the handle it wasn't cleaned up all the way leaving a sharp burr. However, with a quick pass over using a sharp knife this was fixed. So that wasn't a huge deal. The foam is nice, but it was not very easy to pluck, and would rip a bit. Again, for the price, that is something I am just fine with dealing with.I set this up to house my Wicked Edge sharpener and it fits great! I still need to clean up the foam and spray it down with Plasti Dip to set it in place, which I will do soon.If you're looking for a cheaper alternative for a Pelican case or Wicked Edge case, this is well worth the price and the effort to get it how you want it.

IT DOES NOT FIT A PHANTOM 3 DRONE
The case itself is great. It is pretty heavy duty for the price, I haven't been able to see how waterproof it is though.* I recently bought this case for my DJI phantom 3 Standard and it DOES NOT FIT. I know many people are getting this case because it is a cheaper option for a DJI phantom 3 but they do not fit. It was very hard to shut the case so I read the reviews and they all said that it was just because of the foam layer on top so I took that foam layer out to see if it would shut and it doesn't. The lid rest on the drone, if it was a half inch taller it would be perfect. But I repeat IT DOES NOT FIT A PHANTOM 3.With that being said I do love the case even though it wasn't what I originally bought it for. If you are looking for a case for a DJI drone I would not buy this one.
