BULLY TOOLS72502 12-Gauge Edging and Planting Spade with American Ash Long Handle

I have a Bully Tools "regular" shovel that I've been impressed with. I was looking to get an spade shovel and looked again to Bully. This shovel has a nice ash handle and a d-grip handle to give me more control. Build quality seems to be good as well, as I found no pits, excess welds, burs, etc. The shovel came well sharpened and cuts through my sod in no time.

Time will tell if the edging spade is durable. So far it makes a nice sharp edge even in rocky soil.

I manage a cemetery district. We've been looking for a spade that has a straight alignment of the blade and the handle. For our applications of removing sod and preparing burial sites our existing spades were perfect. They are wearing out and a suitable replacement wasn't found, until we found this spade. It's well made and fits our application. We'll be buying more!

Well built and solid tool, but the quality control needs to be slightly better (my shovel came with a chip on the digging edge) and I sure wished it was sharpened from the factory.I had to break out my angle grinder (good thing I bought one a few weeks back) to put an edge on the shovel. While I was at it I took enough metal off the edge to grind away the chip/manufacturing defect.

Okay, I was probably torquing it more than I should have, but didn't expect it to break that easy. It's not snapped, and it still is useful, but I won't be able to poke and chop at roots as much. The metal is strong, and I sharpened it - I use it mostly for edging, shoveling things off flat concrete surface - works great.

Excellent shovel.I've bought bunches of other shovels over the years from Lowes and the like and this by far the best. Most of the cheaper ones chip and finally crack after a year or two. It is slightly more expensive - but only by ten bucks or so.It is comfortable to hold and the solid ash handle feels just heavy enough.I've been transplanting apple trees with it all spring and haven't had any problems.Good welding and balance, too.Made in USA. No Chinese junk here.Will buy more from Bully.

This tool will last for a long time. It is very, very sturdy and strong. It's no lightweight but it really gets the job done.

This is a really nice spade. Very well made. The only thing that is difficult for me is the fact that it is quite heavy.More of a tool for a man.

Exactly what I needed for edging garden beds. Thick steel and handle. Definitely built to last!
