Yusuf's Cafe Session

I have ordered the DVD as I am a Cat Stevens fan. I have heard that he was back to music again after so many years, and I wanted to see it with my own eyes. Almost everyday we play the DVD as my toddler son likes to dance to the tunes. His voice is almost unchanged. I liked his new songs, they are original, meaningful and fun. It is not hard to notice that his song lyrics carry more of a humanistic and a pious mission. The DVD has two sections: a live performance session in London, and a documentary. I saw that Paul McCartney was also among the audience, they must have a good friendship in the past I suppose! Anyways, the DVD is extremely well prepared, I enjoyed the documentary section where you watch the extremely interesting life story of Cat Stevens-Yusuf Islam. If I am not mistaken it is a BBC production. I recommend this DVD to both Cat Stevens and Yusuf Islam fans. Dear Mr. Islam, I am looking forward to your new songs like the ones in this one! Thank you!

It is can excellent album. Well worth the time

it took me awhile to accept his transformation to Yusuf Islam but once i did, i was rewarded. the talent & voice of Cat Stevens is intact. this show was beautifully set & recorded. i like it even better than Majikat and as much as his old KCET concert.his updates of his classics still retain their original spirit & the new songs stand well next to the classics, not like other classic rockers' new songs which audiences politely bear through in order to hear the hits.i hope he performs more & i'm glad he has given life back to his music. like it saids in the bible, he has a special light too precious to keep locked away.

Better than I thought it would be

I would love to be there in that concert hall and listen to him live. His performance was very good even after many years. Of course he is not like the young Cat Stevens anymore. He is wiser now and has much more to share. We need more people like Mr. Yusuf to spread the message of peace.The BBC documentary was very interesting. Another must-watch documentary from BBC...In one of the last videos, he plays guitar on his sofa and sings. He is this kind of super star and I love that!If you used to like Cat Stevens songs and if you believe in change, I bet you will like Yusuf and his new songs.

First of all he is a gentleman and one of the greatest artists of 20th century. We had missed him terribly.Now he is back. He is back not only with his old talent and music, but also with the wisdom he summoned from his journey of the last three decades. His pure spirit is radiating throughout the video. He is so humble, calm and at peace... and seems very happy for being back at stage again.. This DVD is a gem.. I ripped mp3s out of it and enjoying on the road as well. I love&respect him for his talent, courage and being a very good man... Long live Cat/Yusuf... the world needs you and your music..

He's one of the greats and his music of decades ago is timeless. When I watch him sing and listen to him I get the feeling that he's a man totally at peace with himself that has a great message of love and serenity to spread to the world. He has aged with such grace and beauty. I must now admit I was at first unsure about ordering this. Wow, am I glad I did. The first hour contains a full "concert" of many thoughtful songs, in a peaceful setting with an audience. Then a wonderful kind of documentary on his life & career. Followed by a quiet, casual, and thoughtful finale. We are left understanding him a great deal more. And I really now understand Peace Train, and the importance of Father and Son, as music and in his own life. He is a peaceful man we can learn from, and I thank him. Above all listen to his lyrics. There are teachers among us in life.

This is a great dvd for any fan of the artist (formerly known as Cat Stevens). The cafe is a beautifully lit setting for this well-produced concert of new and classic hit music (Peace Train, Father and Son, Wild World), and Yusuf's vocals are still powerfully resonating after all these years. Unfortunately, the live session only runs approx. an hour, but there is a fantastic BBC documentary (50+ min.) for anyone interested in what happened to Cat Stevens (which includes comments by Dolly Parton and Bob Geldof). There is also a short film on Yusuf, plus a few videos. It's great to have his familiar voice back in music, and in total this is a very worthwhile dvd.

I like this and his voice is still very good, the only reason I don't love it and have taken 1 star off is I wish it had more of his old hits on it.

Loved this DVD - very enjoyable - so thankful & happy that I purchased it!! Yusuf's new songs are fabulous - his voice as excellent as ever!!

God gave him a gift and it was music, great to have him back and excellent video mixing in his first music as Cat and the new music.I think his voice is better now and all of the songs are great.
