Well made worth every penny

This descaler is sturdy, easy to hold and works great to de-scale salmon. Gets the job done fast. Very well made. Glad I finally got one of these. Haven't tried it on other fish but works perfectly on salmon. I love gadget's that make food prep easier and faster. This is one of them. Worth every penny.

WOW, I was shocked at how fast I could scale a salmon portion with this. I've used various stamped sheet metal scalers before and mostly found them to be junk. For the past few years I've just been using a knife. That was messy and a bit time consuming, but no worse than a cheap scaler, and it doesn't clutter up my drawers.This scaler is worthy of space in my kitchen. I'd estimate that I can scale a salmon portion three times faster with this than with a knife. The scales don't fly around as much either, making kitchen cleanup easier too. The tool itself simply rinces clean.I should have got one of these years ago.

This is a great and simple fish scaler! Super easy to use and gets the job done quick and easy! Scales go flying everywhere of course, but they come flying right off too, and that's the goal. You don't have to really know how to use it and you can rub it across the fish from multiple angles (I find some more durable scales sometimes seem to need a different angle than perhaps the rest of the fish would need). But overall, it just works and it's great! Haven't had any trouble with corrosion yet either (after about a year of use on ocean fish and near the ocean where plenty of other stuff corrodes - and not *always* being cleaned very timely).

Made in Japan equals to quality. Not some cheap China made stuff. And it works very well in removing the scales.
