Bon-Bons, Strawberry Hard Candy - 5 pounds

I buy this candy for my office reception area for clients to eat when they are waiting. I normally mix this with other candies and the Strawberry Hard Candy is usually the first to go. People will pick it out of the other candy types. I enjoy it too - mostly because of the center gooey "jam".

You should have seen my Grandson's eyes when he opened his present and saw the Strawberry Hard Candy. Little did I know that they are more a summer candy so couldn't find in the stores. I did make smaller bags of them and wrote Week 1, Week 2 and etc so he won't eat to many at a time. Don't tell him I did save some for myself. One Christmas wish list was a "hit"1

All my friends know that when they buy assorted hard candies, to save the strawberry ones for me. I am hooked on them. But this version has a disappointing taste, and the soft filling is minimal or absent. I'm saving it for Halloween and ordering the Brach's version -- the real stuff.

I got this bag for my office because we all love the traditional strawberry candy, but this is not the type I expected as it is not the product pictured. The flavor does not taste like the brand pictured. I was very disappointed and we are not eating it. Also, the bag was ripped open when it arrived.

This will make a great valentine present! My husband carries these in his pocket for use as an emergency source of sugar for frequent episodes of low blood sugar. We have recently been unable to find these in the retail stores in our area. This candy is offered in a few different size packages. Wonderful find!

There’s a lot of candies in this bag. I bought them for a candy guessing game. I was able to completely fill a 1 gallon glass jar and still have around 2 cups of candy left over. The candies are good. They are hard on the outside and chewy on the inside. I just wish they had a stronger strawberry flavor.

When my grandson was little, his great-grandma always had the traditional strawberry candy around at the holidays. Over the years I've gotten it for him every Christmas. This year, for his 32nd Christmas, I finally found this one, which he says is exactly the one he loved from his "Gramma GG's" at Christmas.

Even though the Peerless Candy Company went out of business, these sweet little bon-bons are still around -- thank goodness! It wouldn't be Christmas without them! And they're great even after Christmas has passed. We buy one big bag for the family at the holidays and they last all year long. I'm so glad that even though the original company is gone, these little treats linger on!
