Definitely worth the money. You get what you pay for but at this price you cannot go wrong.

Thumb screw is cheap
Thumb screw did not loosen once tighten easily. Quality was weak not refined.

Useless if you work metal, passable for loose woodwork
Scale has poor finish for scribing lines, it was sheared from a blank and left unground, it might have been side-milled, but I can't tell and it's not straight. It's the only steel part that isn't a bolt or spring. All of the slide locks are gold colored anodized aluminum and definitely not brass. The rest of the components are light and soft non-ferrous white metal. I doubt they're even aluminum, they might be zinc. The channel the scale slides in for the combination square was off at least a full degree and I had to get out a needle file and correct it. The protractor's scale is off about two degrees, and the marking isn't a fine line, just a cast notch. I can make it work for the projects I have planned, but if you work in metals these won't be accurate enough. The parts are soft metal and you'll quickly scratch and burr them. That is if you're not busy throwing parts in the trash. Save yourself the headache and spend a little more. Doesn't have to be a Starrett, but if you're using tools like this often, buy once cry once.

This gauge is a much lighter construction than our Swanson gauge but for the price I am pleased with the quality and workmanship

it works but when it arrived the paint was all chipped and the protractor is not 100% accurate the center finder works well so does the bubble level the square was out by a few degrees if precision is what you need this is not the tool for you

Overall, good value for the money
Product meets the needs of the everyday handyman. Operation could be smoother, but it does the job.
