I bought this set because it was a great deal! The large mat is perfect for all my quilting projects. I mostly use the smaller mat to set my iron on. I did make the mistake of using the steam setting which caused some warping of my table top under the mat. I turned off the steam and I haven't had any problems. There is a faint woolly smell to the mat when it's damp when you first use it but it goes away after a couple uses and doesn't make your fabric smell. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend to others!

The first month I had no issues. I was in the middle of a quilt using white background and out of nowhere the top of the mat melted either residue or glue from within it and gummed on my iron while ironing fabric. The residue wiped onto my fabric and I could not get it off. My iron was ruined as well as I had to scrap the gummy residue with scraper and totally ruined the sole plate.

I thought a regular iron would work for my project, but I was wrong. I am so glad I purchased this product. The iron produces so much steam the regular ironing board pad would have been soaked within minutes. The steam goes all the way through the mat and I had to put cardboard and a towel underneath to protect the wood table beneath. The mat is thick, but it is a lot of steam. I would highly recommend this mat for quilting projects.

I ordered this Mat to work on a special project, but NOW, I can't imagine how I EVER was able to iron without it!! It has a WONDERFUL flat surface and basically irons your quilt seams on BOTH SIDES at the same time, making them PERFECTLY flat. Wonderful for Applique and so many projects. I LOVE that it comes with a smaller size for smaller projects. I will make sure I ALWAYS have one of these mats from now on. I may get another set for my other sewing /embroidery area. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT !! And GREAT customer service to boot!! Win, Win.

These wool ironing mats are really really nice. They are thick and relatively firm so they support the fabric and the iron well, and help to really work out all the wrinkles (when I've left my quilt fabric in the dryer too long). I am really happy with the package with two sizes -- the larger one is perfect for yardage, and the smaller one is perfect for quilt squares. I really appreciate not having to set up an ironing board, and am able to just use these to protect my sewing tabletop. Excellent quality wool. Highly recommend this brand!

Okay I’ve had a small wool pressing mat for years. There are times I wish it was larger. Wool mats make such a huge difference it pressing your blocks without distorting your block. You’ll get a far more flat block than you would from any other pressing material. Couldn’t be happier with this large mat. Keep it by my machine on a lifetime personal table. Perfect. Use smaller mat when attending retreats.

Any wool mat would be great, but after a month, mine started smelling and leaving some crazy residue on my iron, so I decided to place piece of flannel on top of my mat. I should of returned it. Just disappointed in the product. I would try a different brand or manufacture.

I bought this for my wife to help her with her quilting projects. She loves it and uses it everyday. She can set it up on a nearby counter and has a perfect ironing service a step away instead of going back and forth to a different room to use the ironing board. This is a great product.
