MacBook Pro 13 and Air 13 Sleeve, Snugg - Baby Blue Leather Sleeve Case Protective Cover for MacBook Pro 13 and Air 13 with Touchbar (2016)

I was a little worried when I first opened up the packaging. Despite the description here, on the product's packaging it only lists it as a sleeve for the Air. However, when I slipped in my late 2013 Macbook Pro with Retina, it was a perfect (snug!) fit.I have the black sleeve, because it was the cheapest and honestly the best-looking from what I could tell on Amazon. Overall, this leather sleeve serves its purpose perfectly. I simply wanted something to put my new Macbook Pro in when I wasn't using it, especially when I put it in my backpack; furthermore, I wanted it to look classic and elegant, which it does, to a degree. The inside of it is cloth, which seems to protect the aluminum cover just fine.Like some have said, there is a chemical smell, and while it was strong, I did not find it entirely repulsive -- just strong. What I did was wedge open the sleeve with a couple of the plastic shipping bubbles that came in my order, and let it air out in a sunny window for a couple of days. The smell is still there, but it is not nearly as strong now, and is reminiscent of a new shoe smell. I actually like it, though some find it a deal-breaker -- I guess it's up to you.The sleeve has a small opening on the left side to allow you to charge your Macbook while it is in the sleeve -- that's pretty handy.The extra sleeve and card holder on it don't seem too useful, but it's not a problem. Especially with a MBPr in there, there's not too much space to shove papers or business cards in those slots.The biggest problem I have with the Snugg is that the "Snugg" name is on it. Sure, it's the company's name, but it's kind of in conflict with the otherwise classy look to this sleeve. I would have much preferred a smaller logo, or maybe no logo at all. However, it's just pressed into the leather, it's not an obnoxious patch or a different color, so it's really only visible if you're close up.Also, a tip:If your MBP has been randomly going to sleep, the Snugg might be the culprit!I used the Snugg kind of like a tabletop when I wanted to use the MBPr on my lap. To my horror, the MBP kept randomly going to sleep. I was relieved when I figured out that it is the magnets in the Snugg's cover flap that were causing this. The MBP knows when the lid is closed based on magnets -- so when a magnet gets near certain parts of the lid (I think it must be the bottom part of the screen), it puts the MBP to sleep. You can still use the Snugg as a flat surface to put your Macbook on, just position the magnets away from the screen.Overall a great buy, I highly recommend it, and only take off the 1 star for the Snugg name on it and the initially strong smell.

I purchased this case to protect my new 13 inch MacBook Air 13. I chose the brown over the black version due to its approximation to Brittish Tan. The color was nice, the computer fits nicely within the case, and I liked the magnetic closure. There were two issues that kept me from using it. First, the interior of the case smelled. I can't describe it other than a musty odor that made my computer smell as well. The case was supposed to be leather, but it certainly didn't smell like leather. The other issue I had is that the business card holder was too "snug" to hold a single business card. I couldn't place a single business card in the holder without either trimming the edges or folding it. All in all, it was a great idea, but for me, a disappointment.When I originally posted my review, I stated that due to the concerns listed above, I did not use the Snugg case. I was contacted by Ben at Snugg who stated that my case was defective and offered to send another one free of charge (including shipping). I have since received a new Snugg case (black, not brown as they were out of that color) and I have had none of the issues above. I believe the original case must have truly been defective. There is no odor and the business card case works well. Also, as it turns out, I like the black better than the brown. I am now using this case and am quite pleased with it. One caveat that you should be aware of, however, is that the case is "NU Leather". If you are ordering this thinking you're getting fine Corinthian leather or even bonded leather, you will be disappointed.Overall, a smart looking, tidy laptop case that fits my needs and my 13" MacBook Air very well.

Changing the review since I have had this case for sometime and can see the pros and cons.First off, I wish companies would make more slim cases for non-Apple computers. I have nothing against Apple, but all my computers for work and home are windows based and every time I look for some what attractive or slim case for my windows based computer, it leads me to cases for Apple only.This has been my daily driver replacing the Booq Viper Case and the Easy Acc 13.3.I love the fact this case/sleeve is so thin and minimal yet it has a pocket in the back that can hold some papers; actually it can accommodate a 80-100 page notebook, a ruler without adding too much bulk.Anyone looking for a slim case for non-Apple computers this one does a fantastic job.I have several Ultra books that fit in this case with no problems.PROS:Light and slimvariety of color to choose fromFits most of the windows 13.3 or small windows ultra books. I have used it for Sony Vaio Flip 13.3 and it currently is carrying my Lenovo X1 Carbon. I'm using this for my 13" Macbook Air, and it fits perfectly, with just the right amount of space on either side, so it's not too tight. The sleeve itself is thin enough to be easily portable and elegant, but it looks quite sturdy and it's very light to carry around.The PU leather is very nice, with a gentle matte shine. The overall look is minimalist and professional, so it's great to take to university, or for work as well.

I had originally written a poor review after receiving a defective case. After writing the review I was immediately contacted by a company spokesperson to rectify the problem. They offered to send me a new case free of charge.This case is beautifully made. It fits my computer perfectly and the sturdy build seems like it might offer a bit of protection if I were to drop it. Very happy with this purchase and very happy with this company's awesome customer service!

I'm using this with a 13" MacBook Air and it is a snug fit. I tend to use this as a general protective sleeve against scratches and everyday wear, especially for some of my bags that don't have padded laptop pockets. There is a large pocket on the back side that can accommodate a folder and a little pocket in the front that business card size papers can be put into. The front flap is closed with a magnet closure and there's no clasp or button -- it just looks like it's folded over, when closed. The texture of the sleeve is matte and pleasantly wrinkly, mimicking the effect of something well-worn.I chose this sleeve because of its minimalist profile and aesthetic so in terms of protection, I would not recommend it to someone who requires a more robust case. However, if you're just carrying your laptop around for short trips and want a classy-looking sleeve, i would recommend this one.

Love the colour! Love the feel of the leather! Fits the MacAir 13" beautifully. Only one problem. The case arrived wrapped tightly in plastic. I've had it for 4 days now and still don't want to use it because it smells dreadful. Kinda' like the way I imagine formaldehyde might smell. The smell is gradually dissipating so I am hoping it will be okay to use in a week or so.

Good fit, seems pretty durable and the little cute out to allow for charging while inside the case works very well on my retina Macbook. The fit isn't what I'd call perfect, so it is a tad thicker than I'd envisioned but it does inspire confidence that your Macbook is protected. To be fair, any thinner and it would probably be more difficult to remove the laptop when inside the case, which is quite easy.
