Disc Lock Accessories - Lock Reminder Cable - Large

I can't figure out what this is really intended to be. I bought it to use as a disc lock reminder cable, so that I could lock my rear disc instead of the front. I can't recommend it for that. I also can't recommend it as a security cable to lock your coat or other valuables.Dimensions:>> Length: Stretches out to over 16 ft long when pulled hard. It easily goes 11 ft without much effort and gets progressively harder to pull because of the coil retraction force.>> Cable Diameter: I measured 1.3mm (0.05") on a spot without the wire insulation. Less than 1/16" (0.0625). I think this is a metric 1.0 size cable. With insulation it is 3.7mm (> 1/8").>> Loops at each end: 1.75" to 2" in diameterI have a typical 3-to-4 ft cable, which I much prefer to use over this because of it is thinner, lighter, and easier to handle. Of course the extra length is going to add weight, but this has a thicker cable than average reminder cable and bigger coils. It is heavier and bulkier than it needs to be. It also does not spring back into shape as quickly and nicely as typical front wheel reminder cable. After using it a few times, I've reluctantly opted to go back to putting the lock on the front disc with a standard shorter front wheel disc lock reminder. I've stopped using this product. It was not for me.16ft is way too long for a rear disc lock reminder cable. So what is it for? I would never think of using it for locking my coat or anything with value. It can easily be snipped.Ideally, for a Rear disc lock reminder cable, I want something that is 5-to-6 ft in length, and has the lightweight springiness and ease-of-use of the front wheel disc lock reminder cables. I thought about cutting this down shorter and re-crimping the loops at the end, but the coils are larger and bulkier than what is ideal. Why is it so hard to find a practical rear disc lock reminder cable?

Idk what these negative reviews are about. this is a reminder cable not a security cable. it does what it says. Easy reach from right side disc across to clutch lever. fits in mini tail bag (KLX) along with kryptonite lock and a flattened soda can. 5 stars.

Does the job, visible, right length to go from the rear wheel to the front of the bike. A year after using it almost daily, it is still in perfect condition.

It is what it is unfortunately for me it's a bit too long that's my mistake

It's really long and looks like it's made to last. I'd rather it be a bit long than too short. Just what I needed.

I use this cable from a rear wheel lock to the clutch lever, and it's perfect. I recommend getting this one.
