DANGEROUS
Used this thing maybe 4-5 times. I'm not a large person, maybe 170-180 pounds. The thing completely shattered underneath me. It's now in a hundred pieces and I'm all cut up, waiting for a refund. Do not buy!!!!

Collapsed while I was on it
I really loved this stool for the first year. I use it to put my bicycle and kayak on the top of my car. But I used it last week while loading my bicycle, and it shattered underneath me. I weigh about 220 lbs, well under the 320lb limit, and it literally shattered into pieces. Luckily I was not hurt, but I fell and dropped my bicycle, scratched my car, etc. I would say this worked well for about a year, but that is it. It was not stored in the sun and was not exposed to extreme temperatures. :(

Weak Center (handle area); buckles easily when stood on.
The center of the stool, where the handle is, gives way easily. I didn't believe other reviews that reported this problem because an old one I have didn't do this. All three of the new ones I purchased buckle notably in the center when I stood on them, and I am only 210 pounds (95 kilos; 15 stone). Best non-slip surface of any of the stools I have seen on Amazon. Will use the treads on other stools and put these under potted plants, dog-food bowls, etc.

Poorly made.
This stool was precisely the height I wanted. It also folded with ease. Sadly, after locking it into place and then standing on it, it CRACKED! I am no where near the 300lb weight limit! I will now have to make another choice. What a waste of time to attempt to return this item under the current circumstances.

Broke after barely any use
My wife stood on this stool and it almost instantly broke into numerous pieces. My wife is not even remotely close to the weight limit this stool claims to hold. Suppose you get what you pay for I'm this instance.

Capable little stepper with a generous reach and thin foldaway
I steered away from these types of steps for a long time because I am a bigger guy and, generally feel that quick steps are less than safe. The alternatives I've tried are some steel frame steps that always end up catching me in the shins and which are just clunky. Bruised and battered, I tried this. The biggest concerns for me were how flat this could fold and how much it could capably support. Pleased all around with a very solid polymer construction. It feels solid and comfortable with a full 180 lbs. on it. At its widest, this step is slightly over 1.5 inches (folded). Generous 13 inch reach helps me get to everything I need.Very pleased with the size and durability. Generous height for the light weight. Quality non-skid on the top surface and foot bottoms. Well made and a bargain at the prices available.

I thought it was great at first
When I first got this I absolutely loved it. I'm 135 lbs, maybe 140 lbs clothes and shoes on. I only use this to reach the items on the top shelf in my closet. I've used it maybe a dozen times. Today I almost fell when a piece of it decided to snap off on one side. I'm extremely disappointed, the reviews for this were great from what I could find and it felt heavy duty for my 135-lb self.I hate leaving bad reviews to the point where I typically won't leave a review because I often feel it is my fault for not liking the product. But today when it gave out underneath me, I was very grateful for being agile and quick on my feet and I realized I had to leave a review because not everyone is well balanced. my mother was thinking of purchasing one of these, and as much as I love her she's a little bit of a klutz.Maybe mine was defected, I don't know.

Great product for light duty use where you only need a short boost.
I've bought three of these from different sellers. Haven't had any issues with any of them. I use one in my truck for my wife. One in my bubble tub to step out, and one in my kitchen for the grandkids to help with cooking. All are used infrequently with less than 200lbs load. They are convenient for what they are, but for higher or heavier needs indoors you should probably go with a three step folding ladder. I have one of those also and it works well to reach higher while remaining steady. All of these folding products are easy to use and store.

Shatteringly bad
Rarely have I had a product fail so badly. I weigh maybe 170lbs and this thing shattered on the third use. Buying this stool means risking your life.

Buyer Beware!
Purchased first step stool months ago. Already has pieces breaking off and big crack down the side. Thought I got a defective one, so decided to order another to give it a second chance. Right out of the undamaged box, the top of the stool when set up(handle when folded) is cracked all the way across. Brand new out of the package! Hence the buyer beware. Do not trust this item with all of your weight, big or small. And not to mention the chemical warnings that should be in description of product. Very bad product and not only a bad investment, might actually cause you harm or injury. Amazon should consider not selling this product to it customers.

*It's important to know the health risks first*
Before i make my positive comments i feel it important to know a main health risk that was never listed before you make a decision. The stool has the *CALIFORNIA CANCER CAUSING RISK* warning alert sticker added to it that you will seen when it arrives. That label indicates that It can cause birth defects and further reproductive harm. With that being said i knew all of this before i purchased the stool only from reading the comments of others. I have bought a few other things over the yrs from other online stores/found that out after the purchase & returned the items immediately. I would never want to put a *child or pregnant mother at risk even if there was only a small chance of any risk no matter how cute the item was.* However, i have only myself to be concerned about. I've had 3 different cancers in the past & i don't plan to have babies any longer. The stool is very nice, convenient & affordable & it came very quickly. I washed it up good & i believe the reason there may be that risk warning to this stool is maybe that because led paint may have been used &/or some kind of glue that was used to glue used on the top part of this stool was not regulated for use in the Western Countries, places where the majority of the customers would be buying from. Good Luck & stay well in this crazy world that we live in...

Wrong Product Description
This stool is advertised at 16" high - I assumed that this meant the step height is 16" - this is INCORRECT - the step height is only 9" - The product is nice, and fortunately, the stool will still work for me, however I was not happy that the description was so misleading as to the actual dimensions

Just what I wanted
A light, portable, and sturdy folding step-stool at a comfortable height for stepping onto or off of. At 5'6" I'm vertically challenged compared to some, but with this folding step stool I can easily change standard height ceiling lights without dragging a bulky ladder or chair around. Using this handy folding step stool, I easily unload 14.5' kayaks off the roof of my pickup truck solo. (I'm about 190Lbs dressed and my kayak is about 70Lbs with safety gear). Was this helpful?
