A book poetry lovers with a sense of humor will love reading.
For most of my life I have loved reading poetry books of all kinds. I also have had several poetry books published myself. Poetry is a unique art form in that it celebrates life on so many levels. Love, lust, hate, beauty, sadness, sorrow, happiness and numerous other emotions have been expressed through the medium of poetry. I saw this book of (Comic Poems: selected and edited by Peter Washington) poems at a bargain price. I immediately purchased it on Amazon to add to my huge poetry book collection.I have bought numerous poetry books in the past published by Everyman’s Library Pocket Poets and found them to be of excellent quality with fantastic poems. This collection (Comic Poems) is organized into two parts.Part one has a wide range of humorous poems such as “Wig, rouge, honey.” “Their sex life.” “Twins.” “Busts and bosoms have I known.” “I like a woman built on ample lines.” The English Woman.” “Resume.” “Cherry white.” “Common sense” and numerous other limericks and clerihews. Part two has amusing poetic themes on Love and marriage, some pains and pleasures, politics, and mortality. This excellent book proves that poetry does not always have to focus on serious topics but can also be entertaining and humorous. A fun to read poetry book.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Haiku Moments: How to read, write and enjoy haiku).

It's D. Light Full! Get this book!
Oh, my! Here with his wise humour, mostly humour, is Ogden Nash, bringing a muchness of his inimitable poetry. Here with his ever-tumbling words that Sullivan set so well to music, is Sir William Schwenk Gilbert. Here is Edward Lear, "How pleasant to know Mr. Lear!" And a merely a few pages away, here is T.S. Eliot, offering "How unpleasant to meet Mr. Eliot!"Here hilariously, is Hilaire Belloc. Amazingly, here is the poet of classical Rome, Martial, who invented the epigram, with a selection of his. And not to linger, here are several other versifiers who flourished centuries ago.Not to be left out, here is that most prolific of all poets, A. Nonny Muss. Some of these are short, some longer. Some are somewhat semi-serious, but all are funny. Get it if you enjoy this sort of thing, as what civilised human does not.

Not much wit here
If you want a book of funny poems, this isn't the one for you. There are some good ones, but not many.
