Perky-Pet 8119-2 Red Antique Bottle Hummingbird Feeder Large

Wow! I've been feeding hummingbirds for almost a year now and I have tried several different types of hummingbird feeders but none of them can compare with this one. Quality, made of glass bottle, metal upper plate and plastic bottom plate, not like others all plastic. It looks attractive to human but most important, to my hummies. For the past year, I always have hummingbirds come to feed, but always one at a time, but ever since I hanged this bottle up today, the hummies many, many times come in pairs and it is getting a lot more traffic than before. If you are looking around and try to find a quality hummingbird feeder, I would definitely recommend this one. The other feeders you are feeding birds, but with this one, it is becoming very please to look at and you will enjoy both the presence of this feeder and the beautiful hummies that much more. This is a great hummingbird feeder. Not only attractive, it is easy to clean and the hummingbirds love it. Be careful with the plastic flowers. They can encourage mold if not cleaned and dried after each refilling. I use a cotton swab to thoroughly clean the flower holes. Wash them with plain water only. Do not use soap on them.

It seems like a simple, standard design -- nothing special, but I swear by this feeder. They never leak and I don't know why, but year after year, the birds clearly prefer this feeder to any others. The oldest one I own has had the red coating worn away for years and still attracts them.

Looks great started getting hummingbird s right away

This is a very nice feeder that we have had for three years. I hang it on a hook right by a window and enjoy lots of hummingbirds. There is one modification I had to make because it would leak, even when aligned properly and fully tightened. After some trial and error, I made a gasket using a sheet of thin craft foam from a craft store. I traced a circle around the top metal piece with a pencil, then used an exacto-knife to cut about 1/8" around either side of the circle to create a 1/4" gasket. It works great - completely stops the leak, and the pressure makes it stick up a little and the hummies like to perch on it!Another thing -- these feeders must be used with an ant moat -- Amazon has one that is a matching red plastic that works great. Keep the moat water fresh and full, because goldfinches like to drink from it!

After starting with a little one-hole feeder, I wanted one with more capacity. This one works very well, and I have lots of satisfied customers. It's easy to clean and fill, no ants, just works very well. Good capacity. I put half a cup of white sugar in a measuring cup, fill it to two cups, stir it until it dissolves (no need to heat it), and pour it in the bottle with a funnel. Screw on the base, and turn it over, wobble it to settle the bubbles, and it's good for a week or two., when I refill it.

The quality of these feeders was better than I expected. The glass is nice and thick and has decorative bevels. Once you screw all three pieces together it's really sturdy. I thought I would need an S hook to hang these from a garden hook but ended up not needing them. The hook on top is sufficient by itself. I got three for my garden and had humming birds almost immediately (the time of the year helps with this too). I'm glad I got these vs to cheaper options. They'll last forever. Even though the bottom is plastic it's color makes it look like copper. It's a very nice addition to a patio or garden. It looks really nice, not cheap at all. Highly recommend.

This is probably my third one. Well made and very sturdy. I just order a new one once it fades after a few years in the sun. I could freshen them up with aLittle paint but im lazy
