Illustrated encyclopedia of entrepreneurship ideas
This fun and informative book is an excellent inspiration for the entrepreneurship classroom or side-hustle-hopeful. Each story takes up a page or two, and different aspects of each story are highlighted. Some talk about challenges with time management or with social media, some tell specifics about how certain problems were solved. I have given this book to dozens of entrepreneurship teachers at the high school level. Maybe not a good fit for all ages classrooms because a few of the profiled businesses may be considered inappropriate for a youth audience - kind of too bad because otherwise it truly could be of interest even down to about age 10. I'm still a big fan of Chris Guillebeau and think he's an inspiring role model for so many.

Fantastic Pictures! Great Inspirational Stories!
This is a genuine well written book about amazingly ordinary people doing epic things. One aspect I completely love is that Chris G. like the people in this book offer real insight and inspiration.“Inspiration is good, but inspiration with action is better” Chris leads you down a mountain of excuse crushing tails that will have your mind working on your next or first “side hustle”. I especially loved the fact that not all the stories are from businesses or side hustles started by wealthy entrepreneurs. These are people that work our of necessity and need for extra income.100 Side Hustles will kick you into gear and make you want to start something! Even if you do not want to start a hustle, Chris has made this book a “something for everyone”. It is fun, exciting and entertaining!

What keeps you up at night? Reading this book!
Another GREAT book by Chris, in a unique and helpful format. If you're a fan of Chris' Side Hustle School podcast or his other books - you'll love "100 Side Hustles." It's sectioned by categories of side hustles (reselling, crafts, etc.) each with a collection of standalone stories featuring people who have moved forward with their ideas. Full of detail about their inspiration, process, challenges and advice, along with Chris' valuable insight, the book is incredibly inspirational. You realize that any doubts you have about pursuing a side hustle are common, but they can be overcome by simply committing to TRY. I am so inspired by this book because the stories are of average people like me who simply TRIED something. Some are making 6 figures, some 3 - but every story makes you realize that an income producing side hustle is totally possible - if you commit to action. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Idea stimulation
I would suggest this book if you're running on empty, need to get your creative juices flowing, rather than for a big idea. Most of these ideas are fairly common, a few are skills-related, but what I found most helpful was clearing out the cobwebs of being in my own head.If you approach this book as a smorgasbord of ideas, you'll likely find some thing or things that click. If you're looking for "the" idea, you might be disappointed. Overall, a good read.

Wonderfully inspiring, but could use more practical information
If you have a bit of an entrepreneurial spirit and you're looking for a shot of inspiration, this is perhaps exactly the book you need. Though presented as an "idea book," it's not really about the business ideas. If you have even a single entrepreneurial bone in your body, you probably already have some good ideas. What this book is about is the stories of people who've actually made it happen. Beginning with often (though not always) negligible startup costs, these 100 people have found success in their "side hustles," sometimes generating a bit of extra seasonal income and sometimes becoming replacing their full time careers. While I've never been short on ideas, reading about these other people's stories even generated a few new ideas for me. One of the things you'll notice after reading this book is that everything in your life starts to look like a potential business opportunity. That's great, but it comes with a certain danger which is not very well addressed in this book. The danger, quite simply, is that identifying a market and coming up with some idea to sell to that market (the primary foci of this book) is only the very beginning of the process. Though some of the stories do include mentions of the businesses' various false starts, little attention is paid to the nuts and bolts of actually turning an idea into a business.Of course, this isn't meant to be a how-to book, and I'm not arguing that the inspirational stories should have been replaced with lengthy step-by-step instructions for navigating legal processes, but it would have been nice if some of the stories had been fleshed out with just a bit more information on the practical side of the matter. For instance, many of the people in the book found their success marketing food products, but consideration of the regulatory challenges such businesses face is relegated to only a single-page word of warning. I didn't expect a legal guidebook, but I did want to know more about how the particular people featured in the stories managed to navigate these sometimes-complicated processes.Where the book really shines, on the other hand, is in its presentation. Besides being accompanied with numerous full-color photographs, each case study is presented with a quick note regarding the startup costs and profit generated by the business, along with some "fun facts" and a note on the "critical factor" that led to each business being successful where others may have failed. Even if reading the book doesn't directly help you generate even a single actionable item, careful study of these factors will help you learn to identify potential opportunities in your own day-to-day interactions.I recommend this book, but it's best accompanied by other books that pay more attention to the practical side of starting a business.

Inspirational stories in a beautiful format
I was expecting a book version of Chris's podcast - stories of people who are creating interesting and often quirky business. And yes, this book is full of inspirational stories about bringing in extra income from your interests and passions. But I didn't expect it to also be so visual and pretty! Each (or at least most) success story includes a fun fact, data such as startup costs and monthly income, and a "critical factor", which makes this book unexpectedly feel like a reference book and not just a bunch of interesting stories. Great inspiration for when you're wondering if you've got what it takes to create a side-hustle!

Helped me realize I’m a dum dum
Really love the format of the book. Super simple layout to digest the material. Made it really easy for me to realize how much smarter these entrepreneurs are compared to me. Clearly my ideas suck. I guess it’s back to a 9-5 job for me.
