Great flashlight! Super bright!!!
Not sure what was wrong at first. For awhile the battery didn't want to connect properly and it kept going off randomly. I would have to shake it or tap it to get it to come back on. I was almost ready to give up and send it back. After putting new batteries in, the connection must have aligned properly, because now it works perfectly! And it's SUPER bright!!! I use it to inspect busses at night. This little light does the job very well! And it's not too heavy to carry around in my backpack all day. I've always loved Maglite products! And this one is living up to the reputation!

Very Bright and not large and Bulky
Great really bright flashlight. Highly Recommended to replace larger bulky flashlights. Extremely bright and recommended. Very easy to use, just insert known AA batteries that have a charge, if disposable, or are charged up, if rechargeable. Then twist the end to turn it on. Please follow the instructions on the package of your flashlight.

90% satified. Power hungry - battery dies after 1:10 hours on high. I recommend - high/low settings.
UPDATE 19.06.2023. With ordinary AA NiMH rechargeable batteries like the Tenergy Centura or the Panasonic Eneloops I get an battery life of 1 hour and 10 Minutes with these 332 Lumen flashlights on high settings. I stopped it with an timer. So with fully charged NiMH batteries the light shining time is total only 1:10 hours, far away from the stated 2:15 hours and minutes. This is real life continuous use timed with a timer. Since I live on the countryside on an farm that is kind of short since often one needs to walk at night to check some equipment and that takes often well over 1 hour. Besides that I live in a snake infested region so a good light and specially long battery life is paramount. Most important is the flashlight does not die down middle in the dark. I did not try to much the low setting but that will give much more battery life. Maybe these 2:15 hours are calculated at the low setting which then would be somewhat realistic. Low setting must be something around the 100 lumens range.Despite all I see me using this Mini Maglite Pro 332 Lumens now as my regular homestead flashlight due to it's relatively high light output. If you use this every evening regularly be prepared to burn through 4 batteries per week, that is 2 pairs of 2. So you will find yourself constantly recharging some AA batteries since these Pro models with the 332 Lumen bulb are power suckers on high settings. Once you reach 1:10 hours of light shining, the flashlight will dimm down allmost suddenly to nothing within a minute. Then you are in the dark. If you can not withstand the high battery usage of these, use the low setting which will give you a considerable long battery life but less lit up surroundings.MAIN REVIEWI ordered just 2 of these in blue. Pro model with 332 lumens. One had a aluminum galling (oxidation) going on on the back threads. That is clearly an factory error where most likely the anodysing process has gone bad. However amazon CS took care of it an gave me an courtesy credit and I did already reorder the same light immediately. Regards amazon Customer Service make sure to get hold to an american english agent. English westerner agents will take care of you and are very pleasant to deal with. By all means avoid, AVOID!!! indian and hindu or pakistani Amazon CS agents [***].The Mini MagLite Pro 332 Lumen flashlight is an awesome light for the homestead. The light gets considerable warm on high. It has a high and low mode. So in this design and small head, there can not be an higher lumen bulb installed since the heat can not be dissipated in this design. So 332 Lumen is the maximum you will get in this design. Any more lumen output and you need a bigger light head which dissipates more heat. These Pro models are throwers and not so much flood lights. 100 meters is the maximum these will reasonable throw the light to see if a thief is on your barn door (at 100 meters distance). The aerea is lit up like in bright sunshine at noon at an aerea of 20 meters. You need these 332 Lumens in snake countries to see at night snakes on the way. So at 25 meters you will not be surprised by any snake on your pathway. The reflector is improved in these Pro models and it is considerably better than on the earlier LED models. The "donut" is allmost gone and the reflector is now so optimised as it will creat perfect round circles never seen as good before in MagLites. For a reflector light this is about the best they could do. Further improvements of the light spread would need probably an lens instead of an reflector like Coast Portland uses it. But the Coast flashlights do not throw nearly as much on spot focus with the same lumen settings than this Pro MagLite same light output. For example, the Coast HX5 emits a bit more light as this Pro MagLite on low setting. The Coast PX19R emits on low setting (90 Lumen) a bit less light as the MagLite Pro on low setting and on medium setting about the same with it's 335 Lumens (the Pro throws further as the Coast) as the Pro model on high (332 Lumens). So the Coast PX19R on medium and the Pro MagLite on high have about the same light output. The Coast has a more yellow light while the MagLite Pro has an bright white light. I like actually the bright white light of the MagLite Pro more than the Coast yellowish light. The Pro has an much improved light colour compared to earlier LED models from MagLite which had a blueish tone. This Pro model 332 Lumens has an bright white very pleasant light colour. The the Coast PX19R on high tops by far the illumination of the Pro model with its 1080 lumen output not to speak on turbo high with it's 2600 Lumens. This Coast has an about twice as big light body and head as the Pro.The Coast HX5 lasts me about 1 hour of shining or 5 days sporadic use every day at evening. That has about 130 Lumens. The MagLite Pro 332 Lumens lasts about 40 Minutes of light shining or 3 evenings in use. But that is to be expected since the HX5 has 1 AA battery and 33% of light output while the MagLite Pro has just 2 AA batteries but 3 times as much light output. So it is in about normal these 2 AA batteries last only half as long with 3 times more light emission as 1 battery with 3 times less light emission. Considered only NiMH rechargeable batteries since I use only Eneloop or Tenergy Centura NiMH batterie on all my devices. That shorter battery life is the price for 3 times as much of light output. That is to be expected and pure physics. So you get maybe only 30 minutes of continuous light shining on high with these Maglite Pro 332 Lumen flashlights. You notice the batteries are dying when the head of the Pro does not get considerable warm anymore on high. Then after a few minutes the flashlight steps down quickly giving you just enough time to run back into the house to get some more NiMH batteries. 30 to 45 minutes battery life in real time at high 332 Lumen settings - the price for high light emission with an relative small power source (2 AA batteries). Pure physics. But you have an good allround homestead flashlight. The Coast PX19R has with it's 4000 mAH Li-Ion battery as well only an battery life of 1 hour at best on an high/medium 1080/335 lumens mix. As well as expected by pure physics.I recommend these MagLite Pro models with the 332 Lumen bulbs. Just be aware high light output will cost you quick battery drainage. So use only NiMH rechargeable batteries with these as I do.Most other brands state insane lumen outputs with insane battery runtime which is not even possible physically or regards temperatures. With 500 Lumens light output you need already an light head of the 3D MagLite sizes to dissipate the heat. The Coast PX19R gets considerable warm with it's rather bigger light head at 1080 lumens. This is the most light output you could achieve with this size of an flashlight before the whole light get really hot.So do not fall to the advertising scam of other brands which state 5000 lumens in an tiny flashlight with an rather meager battery. See above my real life battery runtimes with different lumens and battery sizes. Most lights will have only a runtime of about 1 hour or so with ofter an lumen output between 100 and 500 lumens then already with an beefy propietary Li-Ion battery - not more in real life. The high/low is done electronically on the circuit board inside the LED module by quick contacting and not contacting the power. The LED module on these Mini Maglites sits in a plastic sleeve which slides down when the head is screwed in for power off and slides up getting contact with the flashlights sidewalls for the negative when the flashlight head is screwed outwards. So the batteries slide up pressed up by the tail cap spring and the LED module makes contact to the body of the flashlight closing the power circuitry starting to shine. Screw the head in again pushes the plastic sleeve with the LED module down and the contacts do not touch anymore the flashlights body switching off the LED with that. Simple but robust switching mechanism which just works. Reverse polarity is prevented by an mechanical recession on the back of the LED module which prevents the flat negative to contact the module (it needs the positive knob of the Battery positive pole to reach the contact on the LED module). Again simple but effective reverse polarity mechanical protection.Buy these with confidence.

What I've needed for 30 Years
For probably 20 years, I used the incandescent version of the MagLite, the so-called "classic" version. It worked fine, though battery life, bulb life, and brightness were so-so, vis-a-vis a standard flashlight. The LED version's improvement is an order of magnitude higher. While the LED version is about an inch longer and a half-ounce heavier, it feels about the same on my belt.Admittedly, it's early days, so I cannot comment on the long-term serviceability. However, I'm sure it will be fine. My wife had on continually for about a half-hour with no discernable derogation in brightness. The classic version would be showing some battery loss. This is a follow-up to the original review above. I'm an 81-year-old real estate appraiser/retired pilot. I had to retire because of night vision loss. So, it is an important tool in my real estate practice and seeing when I take nighttime walks. I have a small belt holster and it is with me 24/7. Last year while I was on the Band of Brothers tour, I managed to lose it, and felt handicapped for about ten days. Upon my retuned, the first thing I did was order a new one. Since I no longer buy green bananas, I refrained from ordering a backup.

LOVE THIS LIGHT!
I've owned several of these and wouldn't be without one! Only problem is I keep losing them, either to carelessness or thieves, I don't really don't know which. This little "torch" (if you're British) is incredibly bright, because it has a focused beam off a parabolic reflector. Also, a set of alkaline batteries will last about 1/2 of forever because the bulb is L.E.D. In addition, construction is of very attractive anodized aluminum. On-Off is by twisting the head. I would prefer a push-button toggle switch, but that's a minor drawback. The holster provided is nice nylon webbing material, but not very secure if you are wearing it on belt. Harbor Freight Tools has a much more secure clasping holster that fits this light perfectly and securely.
