Tastes Best when toasted. Acquired Taste.
I haven't had this since I was a kid and quite frankly, I couldn't remember what it tasted like. I just remember that it was pretty cool getting bread out of a can. Now I have kids so I figured I'd introduce them to the cool factor of it. I can't compare prices because I never bought this before but I did buy two cans. The kids and I had a piece fresh out of the can and it was definitely "Unique" in flavor. I watched the Crazy Russian Hacker review on Facebook videos and he recommended toasting it so we did. It was so good toasted and covered in butter. We're going to buy the Raisin bread next. I will definitely buy this again the next time I make a Pantry order. TOAST IT and then put butter or cream cheese on it.

A great bread in a convenient can for storage
This bread tastes like a sweet rye bread. I'm not sure why some say that it tastes chemical-like - they perhaps have never had a robust rye bread before. The taste is dominantly rye bread, with a sweetness to it. It's quite moist and really pretty delicious. And also super handy to keep around in the can "just in case" - whether power outage, winter storm, or whatever.I'd never heard of this type of product until I started reading things in preparing ourselves for a weather event or natural disaster by keeping some stock of food/supplies around. I'll be sure to keep several cans of this in rotation for something handy to eat in a pinch!

Canned bread
I had seen this canned bread used on the Food Channel so I wanted to try it. I ordered it, i needed to open top and bottom lid to push the bread out. It is very dense but has a good flavor with a hint of sweetness.

Surprisingly good
I started buying this bread as a result of the pandemic. I did not know what to expect. It is heavy and moist and tasty, right out of the can; like molasses pumpernickel bread, only very fresh. To me it does not taste good toasted, but it does taste marvelous when warmed or microwaved. It is a very heavy bread; small, width of a large muffin. It is good value for the money, and I will keep buying it.

Different!
I watched a special on this bread and it's production, I was intrigued that it came in a can and just had to try it. It does not taste like I had assumed, seems to be bitter, maybe a mild rye taste. I don't blame the bread, this was just a test! It came and I tried it; froze it for now and will try it again on a sandwich or something!

Wow they have it! Canned bread!
I seen this in a YouTube video and decided to try it.I did not expect ...canned bread...of all things.. to actually taste pretty good?It was delivered on a hot day so it was warm when we brought it in, so opened it right away out of curiosity. It's like a weird mixture of thick cornbreadish texture that of course, tastes sweet like molasses.Tastes really good slightly warmed with a little butter.I don't see it being a regular purchase, but it's definitely worth trying at least once, unless you hate sweet breads and/or molasses.

Food for your bomb shelter or quarantine.
We still haven't opened this can of bread, but I can tell you the peace of mind just knowing that it's there. Will we ever eat it? I don't know. We are in discussions about opening it and ordering more... just in case. Because if you can't get bread and are baking deficient you really don't have a choice. I will update you if we decide to have it for lunch. It looks like it would pair nicely with chili, but I have nothing to base this data on. Jane

Doesn't Taste Good!
I love almost any kind of bread, but this stuff was bitter and really unpleasant. I ended up throwing it away after one bite, and I can usually make just about anything work somehow because I hate waste! Maybe it's an acquired taste, but will not purchase again!
