Simple to use and temperature seems accurate compared to outside temperature.

Not sure why anyone would pay more money for one, this is perfect and instant at reading the temperature. Literally gives you an instant reading, other thermapens Ive used in the past take a few seconds to calculate, not this one!!

quick and accurate, 2 months old and accurate still , the hinge mechanism is still ok and solid, this is fine for domestic use , feels cheap but proving me wrong so far , VFM item and loads better than some of those around the £10 mark . I would buy again

I bought this so I could check the internal temperature when cooking a lot of mixed food items on the bbq. I normally use a Meater probe which is brilliant for large single pieces of meat that require a longer cook. This is great for when you have lots of different items on the bbq. The advantage of the Javelin is that you can quickly jump between burgers, steaks, sausages, and anything else you happen to be cooking. The response time is fairly quick and the build quality seems good. The temperature reading can be toggled between Fahrenheit and Celsius by changing the tiny switch in the battery compartment. I've used cheaper meat thermometers but I think this hits the sweet spot with a good combination of quality and value.

This is the first thermometer I like for grilling, I keep it clipped magnetically to the side. Reads and resets quickly so good for grilling. Also use to measure temperature of bath water for baby. Highly recommended.

I purchased a Lavatools thermometer in December and initially it worked perfectly and I was very pleased with it. However after 3 months it stopped working and the temperature displayed varied enormously and was totally inaccurate.I contacted Lavatools customer service by email and received a very swift response. (Their reply went into my junk mail initially so anyone awaiting a reply from them would be advised to check their junk mail folder) I was asked to provide postal address and promised a replacement product. The replacement arrived within two days and is working perfectly.Despite reading negative reviews by other people I found the customer service excellent and I highly recommend this company.

Not "instant", but then none really are. It takes 2-3 seconds to give a stable reading, but it is consistent and faster response than any that I have used previously. Easy to use and read the display. Probe folds out to turn on and in to turn it off. I like the internal magnet to hold it in place on steel surfaces. It works great on the side of the stove or barbeque. I have already recommended this to several other people.

It's very sensitive to small changes in temperature. Very useful! It's also very compact.
