Scott PritchettPanzer Feldjacke: German Armored Crew Uniforms of the Second World War • Vol.1: Heer Pt.1.

In the interest of full disclosure, I need to state that I personally know the author, Scott Pritchett, and we have frequently sought each other's advice over the years in all matters related to the collecting of Panzer-related artifacts. That said, I believe that Scott's first volume will soon become the bible of references concerning the uniforms of the German armored forces in World War II. Indeed, if the remaining volumes continue in the same vein, as I'm sure they will, the 4-volume set will become a classic in the field of militaria collecting. This volume covers the three main variants of the famous black Panzer field service tunic, which was designed for wear in and around service on armored vehicles--initially tanks and armored cars--but eventually applying to virtually all of the crewmen who manned combat vehicles of the Wehrmacht. The amount of detail covered in the 416 pages, which is printed in four-color process throughout, is simply amazing. Even though I specialize in collecting Panzer uniform items, I learned a number of things after just a cursory glance through the book. Not only are fabulous, untouched examples of Panzer uniform items from a variety of world-class collections illustrated, there are innumerable period images of soldiers wearing the uniform that show both the "textbook" wear of the uniform, as well as field modifications that show both unit and individual preferences. I cannot recommend this book highly enough for modelers, collectors and historians.

Excellent book. I am not that interested in the Panzer Feldjacke and only bought the book due to the known quality of Scott Pritchett's books and my love for studying any German uniforms from world war 2. I was not disappointed and in fact love the book. The pictures are so clear and detailed it is amazing. Well worth the money. I will spend many enjoyable nights studying this book in detail.

Great reference book on this very historical period concerning the German Armored Troop. Would highly recommend , should your interests concern this topic. I look forward to the follow on volumes.
