Used for post op, love it, just as good as hospital machines
*** Update*** I've had this since July 2016 and starting about Feb 2017, the pump has been sketchy about pumping the heated water through the pad. I do use this a LOT, but sort of disappointed in the less that one year. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've sprayed out the pump as best as I can it seems to help, but there is no real way to clean or fix it, or even see why it's refusing to pump sometimes. Dropping the stars down, as it did work for a while, and I do use it a LOT, sometimes all night long. I just wish it had lasted longer or that I had some sort of warranty (I don't believe it has one). I'll probably just get a long lasting manual heating pad instead.I purchased this after using a hospital hot pad system similar to this, which cost over $500 to buy, and wasn't covered by insurance. For MUCH less, this works AWESOME. I love it! I had major abdominal surgery (colectomy with end ileostomy) and I do not bind opiates, so get no pain relief and therefore am unable to use them. My surgeon gave me the OK to use heat and cold therapy for pain management since nothing else was doing anything, and it helped a TON. This pump was perfect at home, and has really helped with those rough days with cramping or just overall pain. I use the large pad on my belly, and it feels wonderful. It's great for "that time of the month" as well ;)Wonderful invention, and WAY more effective than even "moist" heat pads, plus it lasts much longer, and is much safer. The cold setting with ice is also super soothing if you need cold therapy, and again, much safer and longer lasting than icing.

Not for long term, chronic use
Good product for occasional use. I don't think it's meant for long term, chronic use.First unit shipped with a pad that sprung a leak along a seam within the first week. Within another week or two the heating element failed. Both were promptly replaced by the vendor. The replacement unit's pump failed within a month but the heating element still works fine. Seller is now refunding purchase price. In our scenario this unit was running 12-14 hours a day, everyday (pregnant wife on bed rest with chronic back pain). We are now looking to purchase a Stryker model used by hospitals. Unfortunately they're significantly more expensive. For the money, I'd recommend this model for light use. If you'll need constant therapy, be warned.

Short term use is great
This pump was wonderful for helping my dad use cold and hot therapy after back surgery. However, if you need to use it longer than a few month you might invest in a different model that has more settings. This one does not work well for extended periods of use. The tech support was very friendly and helpful.

Just what I was looking for
It did not hold up very long before it quit working. Was very disappointed.

I am not sure about this big thing!! Years ago I had this nice small Aqua K Pad with a pad that was larger than this and you could put it under the sheet of your bed. I wore it out but it saved me from drugs for my back. I think the motor just died in it. Years went by and I didn't need it. I re-injured my back and am now looking for a replacement with moist heat. This unit says you should not lay on it and it doesn't get very warm and it is so large.

While it worked I did like the heating pad
While it worked I did like the heating pad. I purchased it in 3/17 for back pain and used it for about 3 weeks until the pain resolved.Again the beginning of 9/17 the back pain recurred and I started using it. After a couple days I had the pad on my back and then heard water running. There was water every where. My husband was able to fix the disconnected connection and then I used it again that night, Again the a different area disconnected and again water every where. This time my husband could not fix the connection. I contracted the company and all they could say was I passed the 90 day warranty. Not even how we could fix it. This expensive an item should have a warrenty longer than 90 days and offer repairs if broken even if there if a charge,

Great machine - bad pad
When my disabled husband was in the hospital recently, he was able to use something similar to this. When I was able to find this one, I was thrilled! Unfortunately, on only the second use, the pad sprung a pinhole leak and soaked his bed.It states I cannot return the product - which has to do with hygiene, I'm sure. So I am left with a perfectly good machine and a leaky pad, which I'll have to replace, costing me extra, which I don't really have as my husband is on disability.Conclusion... buy the machine(?) but a different pad(?) - IDK
