Skimmer Weir American 850012 B-38

Works great as part of my jacuzzi skimmer box. Keeps leaves, twigs, etc from drifting back into the main pool (jacuzzi).

4/16 I was unable to view a part# on my current skimmer weir. Top circular edge is broken off and therefore creating air bubbles in the pool return. The measurements included are helpful as this was all I had to go on to select a replacement. Will update the review once the part arrives to see if it fits my existing basket which is still in good shape.5/4 The skimmer weir fits nicely in the existing basket. There are 3 small V-shaped notches in the basket I had not noticed before & I did have to cut off 3 of the 6 small equally spaced tabs on the side of the weir with a utility knife. The 6 tabs are very small - positioned a third of the way up on the outside of the cylinder, designed to keep the weir from popping out of the basket when the water is rough with swimmers are in the pool and the pool motor running. Now the weir slides right down into the basket, no problem.

This weir does not have the usual float stops near the bottom. These stop it from floating out of the basket when the water levels get too high from rain or a hose left running too long.

I was very concerned that I was buying the "wrong" skimmer basket and weir set since the existing set had no clear markings. Got lucky. Skimmer fits perfect and is an exact replacement for what I now know was our American B37 basket and B38 weir. I like that these are gray and believe they will not discolor as quickly as a white set would.
