Not all that it appears to be.
I was expecting the book to tell the truth of what was happening at that time, not some bland outlook that they want people to think. I have read other books,by different authors whom has painted a different picture.

amazing, I thought it would be a larger book
amazing , I thought it would be a larger book , very nice hard to get especially at an inexpensive price , renting it , it has lots of highlighter marks in it a little dog-eared but I am happy to have it.

Good luck to those assigned this book
The material in the book is poorly organized to the point that it get repetitive at times. It should be interesting material, but this author manages to make mad kings put you to sleep. Finally, how was this written in 2014, a sixth edition no less, and still manages to have outdated material. This historiography belongs in the sixties for every topic but perhaps a few breakdowns of Medieval culture.
