Kept Us Sane On Three Week Road Trip
This device was the holy grail of our three week road trip. It had a hard drive connected and we had 5 tablets streaming video from it non-stop. It did awesome! It was setup with a 2tb portable hard drive plugged into it with our video collection. The first drive I tried was from a Mac(EXT3 file system I believe) and the P2R didn't read the disk, so I switched to a Windows drive (FAT32) and it read the videos fine. I experimented with several apps and settled on one called Moliplayer which has both a iOS and Android version. I set up the P2R to have a wireless network and connected all the devices to that network, it didn't have access to the external internet, but they were all able to browse the movies and watch them to their hearts content. The only quirk we found on the road trip was if the device was turned on with no charge in the internal battery it had problems powering the hard drive and would randomly stop streaming. If we let it charge for a few minutes before turning it on it would run all day without any problems. That issue was a quite tricky to troubleshoot since the failures were so random appearing but once we figured that out we had no problems with it at all. I would dock a star because of how hard that issue was to track down but we used this so much that it would have been worth it at three times the price so it keeps all five stars.Thank you for keeping my family sane during this long trip!

A very promising device, works well for the price, but falls short on key features I wanted
I really wanted to like this device, but it has too many flaws to give it 5 stars. My ultimate use case is a wireless drive solution where I do not have to worry about things like providing passwords and such. However, it has been nothing but trouble for me.While you can turn off the WiFi security, it simply does not support SMB guest accounts. You have to give someone the user name and password to the account to access the file share. Even worse, this appears to be the same username and password to manage the device.Over all, this thing needs a serious firmware overhaul. And yes, I am using the newest firmware available. On the plus side, it runs for a long time, has lots of features, and charges my devices well.

Road warrior's dream, almost
Works as advertised! The only thing that would make it better is if it had: 1. on board memory, SD or Micro SD drive 2. Blue Tooth 3. Internal cellular modem/sim card to eliminate need for "dongle" (which always gets lost) 4. a lightI use the WiFi daily both as a repeater and network storage. It has been just a bit awkward with a full size USB flash drive attached to the end, so I ordered a 32 gig "micro USB" from Sandisk so It can just be left on the unit making one less thing to lose, or get broken off!I love this thing but travel a lot so, the fewer accessories to remember and keep track of, the better!!

Swiss Army Knife for networked road warrior
This is a Swiss Army Knife for traveling with multiple connected devices: Android phone, iPad, laptop. It replaces my travel router and spare battery. In addition, the network storage server allows my iPad to access content stored in my USB Hard drive just by plugging in the hard drive directly to the P2R. Even when I am on an airplane, I can still access the USB Hard Drive to stream a movie (thanks to the Lithium battery inside P2R).Use as an router, it has latest security measures such as WPA2, the signal is robust and I can share the Wiwith my colleague across the hallway in the Hotel. it can also be setup to back-up the photos from my smart phone.

The default factory password given in the user manual is ...
The default factory password given in the user manual is incorrect. The correct password is 12345678. Provided you have the correct password, the wifi router functions exactly as promised. I am in a hotel in Asia that only has hard wired internet and no wifi in the room. I ran the internet cable from the hotel outlet into the end of the product, and then plugged the USB cable into the product and the USB port on my laptop. I was then able to access wifi on my Samsung Galaxy S5 for making phone calls over the TMobile network, and the calls were clear as a bell. I could also connect my laptop to the internet via the same wifi connection. I understand that the manufacturer is out of business, so don't expect customer service. Also, the user manual has very small print and is barely legible, and the instructions are not clear at all. There are some videos on utube that may be helpful if you can't figure out the setup.

Great portable router
I am using this to set up an independent portable wireless network that I can log on to from anywhere. The purpose was to set up a network that a robot using Raspberry Pi could connect to can be controlled with a laptop. It works great, but there is a conflict with the router's 2.4 ghz and the transmitter 2.4 ghz frequencies. So the router has to be a little distance from the transmitter otherwise the Raspberry Pi will operate very slowly remotely from the laptop.

I purchased this product hoping it would be a great product to have for school
I purchased this product hoping it would be a great product to have for school. I opened the package and the charging function worked great for my phone. The main reason I purchased this device was for the wireless capabilities. When I went to test this section it did not even work. I tried recharging the device, different Ethernet cables, and even different routers with no signs of progress. Save yourself the trouble and spend a few dollars more on a quality product.

A Very Versatile Box!
I bought this little box to make my movies (MP4 and MKV) available via Wifi when I'm on the road, in the hotel. I load up movies and series and now can connect to it and watch those movies on my iPad! It was easy to setup and upgrade to support DLNA - took just a matter of minutes. Now I can stream my movies to just my iPad, and if I have an Ethernet cable in the room, I can do much faster Wifi access. Sweet little box!
