ALEKO® AS600 Solar Powered Gate Opener Operator for Single Swing Gates up to 10-feet Long and 660-pounds

I was looking for a gate opener for the entry gate to our property. This one seemed to be a cut above the others. I wasn't disappointed. Not only was the equipment top notch , but customer service was always good too. I am a retired electrical engineer and so the installation was never a problem. Yet their are always issues due to a particular manufactuers programing. These folks were always helpful.

This item looks like a good value but the motor was dead on arrival after numerous testing. I was frustrated due to that I already installed the most of the hardware but don't see an available option to replace the motor from amazon. I was very disappointed especially if I had to repackage this for return. After exploring all the possibilities, I switched the single gate setup to dual mode and it the motor worked. The single mode works in terminal 6-7 instead of 1-5. Overall, the illustrations and instructions were not clear and need to be improved to save the installer time and headaches. It is working so far.

Not only is it difficult to put together. Not only are the instructions bad. Not only does it not work (OK it worked for a day). It was a big waste of time and money. WARNING: If you look at the instructions (which you can't see until you buy it) it says that the solar panel that it came with is not big enough to run the gate on a daily basis. I've read other reviews where people say that the gate will open on a windy day. I guess the manufacturer's solution was to make the gate try to close every minute. This kicks on the light and runs the motor every minute! The batteries didn't last 24 hours because of this. Now, if I want this to work, I'm going to need to run an extension cord or something all the way to my gate - which is very far away from a power source (which is why I got the solar powered version in the first place).

I bought it one years ago. It still works good so far. The only thing is that the solar system never works. I live in southern California so the sunlight is not a problem. I have to put a 120 feet AC cord. I don't recommend any one to buy the solar panel. I am a mechanic engineer. It took me several times with almost total several working hours to install and adjust it. Now I am going to install an electric lock because it can't close completely after a few month of using or pushing on the gate. It does need professional to install and adjust. Compared to the price, It is OK.

good unit , works fine for me ,no good programing insrtuctions for the wireless key pad , had to go online to figure out .solar panel not big enough to operate unit by self had to get ac power

it worked great but the solar panel is to weak to keep batteries well charged but it does work good and would recommend it

Nut keeps skipping like it is stripped out. It worked about 50 times as I was setting it up. It is cheap plastic everywhere.I am using a steel tube light gate maybe 80 pounds or so. It is level and I can move it by hand with about 5 pounds of force. It swings freely with no binding. But the ball screw or nut is stripped and it will no longer open the gate. Would not recommend as installation was simple / programming was simple. But it has already failed.Now what who do I contact- can I get spare parts? I'll post a video of this light duty piece of junk so you can see what I mean.DO NOT BUY - all weak plastic - strong plastic would be great but this is anything but strong. Looks like a cheap childs toy.
