use a rheostat
installed this unit in my workshop to add to the ventilation, mostly to move hot air in the 13 ft ceiling. Connected to a 100 watt panel which makes this fan scream. It is somewhat loud at full speed, but moves plenty of air. I hooked up a rheostat so I can now control the speed or turn it off when not needed. So far works great after 6 months

Use to maintain temperature in greenhouse.
The fan helped to maintain an acceptable temperature in a greenhouse. Seems to work better when connected to a solar recharged battery but can be louder than if connected direct to solar panel.

Loud in small greenhouse
Moves air well, but very loud in my 14x10 greenhouse. I have to turn it off to speak to my wife when she comes down to greenhouse.

Solar fan plug and play
Perfect greenhouse install. Wired directly to solar panel. At full speed does not make much noise at all. Might install same fan in my attic crawl space.
