Gorgoroth's First Full Length
This is Gorgoroths First full length album, seen as a classic black metal album by many, this album is the very definition of old school black metal, no fancy melodic parts, just plain and consistent black metal. Many of the tracks are re-recorded versions of their demo tracks, with a better production. Hat's high pitched raspy vocals work well with the sound of the guitar and drum. Often fast paced and repetitive, though there is enough variety to keep the listener interested. This album was re-released in a remastered edition by Season Of Mist Records, I feel that the Season of Mist remaster has a better sound to it than the original. Regain records have also re-released it remastered as well but i have not heard that edition yet so i can't compare them.I like this album, however i feel that many of their albums are better then this one. The band has changed their musical style a lot over the years, no two albums sound the same. If you are a first time listener try Under The Sign Of Hell or Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt (currently their latest album, which is a return to this style of black metal). 82/100
