WIX Racing Filters Air Filter Panel

I recently purchased a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins turbo diesel engine. Although it was a one owner vehicle and the previous owner seemed to take good care of it from the looks of the outside of it, I like to change necessities such as filters and fluids to make sure my truck is getting the best treatment possible. I plan on taking a road trip to Georgia at the end of this month, and the one thing I haven't yet changed is the OEM air filter. Originally I was going to buy an aftermarket intake system for my truck, however, after doing extensive research on forums, I learned that the stock air intake system, combined with this specific filter is the BEST filtration system you can possible have, putting down stock horsepower numbers. After receiving this and comparing the stock filter with this Wix filer, the difference is HUGE (Or as our president would say, YUUUGE). This WIX filter is like a father figure to the original filter, there is literally no comparison. Installation was super easy, opened up the air intake box with two clips, popped the old, dirty, clogged air filter out, put the new, heavy duty, clean, thick airfilter in, and sealed up the air box. Surprisingly the Wix filter fits PERFECT and WAY better than the OEM filter did, with this filter the air box actually seals 110% and fits very snug. I haven't driven the truck much yet since I've replaced the filter, but overall I feel way better knowing that I now have double the filtration protecting my motor.I posted pictures showing the before and after, as well as size comparison from different angles.

I read the reviews and sort of laughed at the single review saying these do not fit his OEM airbox. Well, he was absolutely correct.Quality control is terrible on the six I just purchased. They DO NOT FIT MY OEM air box. See attached photos....The glue strips that hold the bottoms of the pleated filter material together hold the folds TOO FAR APART. Therefore, the total width is too wide to fit into the OEM air box. I tore one filter trying to get it to fit into the OEM air box. I finally modified a filter to fit by removing portions of the glue strips which allowed the bottom width to be compressed enough to fit into the OEM air box....but in the process I put holes in two other filters I tried to make fit thereby destroying them.Also, because the bottom of the filter is too wide it causes the silicon top of the filter to be bowed. The top silicon perimeter ring doesn't fit flat to the top of the air box. The filter top has to be forced flat and into place. I had to use enough force to flatten the filter so I could latch the air box top I was concerned I was going to break the air box loose. The OEM air box is held in place with 2 screws and 2 or 3 plastic pins.So between the filter torn trying to force it into the air box and the two I made defective trying to make them work....I only have 3 filters I am able to return....Seriously....I've owned my 06 Ram since new and this is the first issue I have ever had with an air filter.....Be warned ...buy these filters ONLY if you do not have an immediate need for a filter...So you can return them for a refund if necessary.....Very disappointed in this Wix product. For myself I will never buy a Wix filter again....I have read negative reviews of Wix filters on a few forums I follow....Now I understand.Edit...Amazon was great on this...Returned 5 of the 6 and got a refund....Thank you Amazon!.....BG

Read reviews on this air filter before purchasing and heard grumbles about the tight fit. Also saw reviews about how it fit just fine. My application is for a 2005 Ram 2500 Cummins. This air filter has about 1 1/2 times the filter media that my Napa filter had that I removed. The Wix filter looks awesome and I know that it is doing a great job protecting my engine. That's why I bought it. If you want to believe it fits perfectly in the intake and you won't have to coax it into place you are mistaken. Furthermore, if you think your stock lid with the 4 plastic tabs and 3 snap latches will then fit back into place perfectly without a significant struggle as well, again you have been fooled. It is a beast to get in but if you are like me, you will find the way to get it in because you believe your truck deserves the best air filter, even if it has the worst fit you can ever imagine. I got mine in only breaking one plastic guide tab. You can do better! Buy it to properly protect your well loved truck. Put up with the struggle of installation because all good things seem to come with a struggle. Highly recommend this filter for stock intakes.

The filter came damaged. The glue holding the pleats was missing and there were holes in the filter. I returned for another one I will update this review when I receive the next one.EditI am not updating the stars as I don't believe this filter is designed for this truck. I have a 2007 ram 2500 with CTD. The filter does not fit in the airbox!! All the websites say this filter will fit but I am not seeing how. I will do a little more research before I look into returning it.

This fit my 2003 2500 diesel perfectly, you may have to play with it a little and switch sides of the filter. Also this is the best drop in filter money can buy just check the cummins forum, it will handle 500hp of power and still filter the best so thats a win in my book. Overall this is the best quality filter I've used and I put about 8k+ miles a year, last time I changed it the filter was about 2 years old and the filter monitor was starting to drop towards the red. I put about 10k-15k miles and I live in the country next to dusty farmlands and drove a lot of highway/city so it was nice and black.

I have been using these for while now. So many comments that they don't fit, or they get torn when installing. They do fit tight but it takes just a few seconds to get them in. They are slightly flared out at the bottom due to how the glue is applied to the pleats. If you put it in at an angle on one side, you just need to put your fingers in on the other side to push (squeeze) the pleats in and then gently push it down past the lip inside the air box. Easy to do and a nice tight fit. I get zero post filter dust in the intake tube which is exactly what you want!!

03 Dodge CumminsInstall was easy, snug but good fit. This filter has a lot more surface area than the factory recommended filter, so should breath easier than the factory filter.

Very easy installation I don't know what the guys are talking about on and on You don't even need to cut anything you just have enough strength to put this together and squeeze the robber that's all. Very easy installation

Little tight to get in, but it fits nicely and it double the depth of the oem one

A better quality filter than Fram. Longer filter vanes give better filtration for my Cummins 5.9.Won’t ever skimp on quality to keep my engine clean
