This grater has razor-like cutting blades for effortless grating of foods. The coarse grater grates chocolate and shreds coconut for baking and decorating, grates Parmesan and other hard cheeses light and fluffy, and purées garlic and ginger instantly. The rasp-style grater features etched stainless steel cutting blades in a long, narrow stainless steel frame with a rubberized handle and a non-slip rubber base for resting on the countertop. Unlike most graters in which the cutting edges are formed by punching holes through stainless steel or tin, this grater's tiny razor-like edges are formed through an etching process (in which holes are dissolved with a chemical), leaving edges that finely slice the food instead of tearing or shredding.
