JLTC CD0.8 Universal Plate Clamp, 1760 lb Working Load Limit (2-(Pack))

I am a boat house builder and I use this to lift steel wide flange beams for piling into rock. There is no fight, easy to handle and work with. Saves hours of plasma cutting and hole drilling for ropes and such. Just clip it an go. I made sure that if the material ever did slip and fall that I was not in the way.

We use this clamp to lift and position 500-600 pound galvanized steel I beams for pile driving and it works just as it should. It will mar the surface if you are dragging it around at different pull directions but it has never failed it's grip. We tried some magnetic lifters but they will fail if the load swings or bounces and they loose hold capacity if you lift at an angle to the mating surface so this worked much better and safer than a lifting magnet.

I use it in conjunction with a 2 ton engine hoist, to lift sheet steel onto my CNC plasma table. The thickest thus far is 1/2" material, but it lifts it fine. It will swing a little, but is is -not- a horizontal/vertical unit. It's got maybe 60 degrees of swing...meaning it may bend the area it's clamping if you try to drop a panel from vertical, until it rests horizontally on the floor. The thinnest I've used it on has been 14 gauge, and it works well. No slipping thus far. Quite satisfied at this point.

A neat too for heavy lifting

this product is unsafe. We used it for a short time and it broke while lifting. after looking at where it broke, There is a major defect in these as where the break occurred the piece showed evidence that it had a crack in it. I would not buy this again and would return it, but the time has run out for that by 8 days.
