Great for a classroom read - year 2 children loved it.

This book is beautiful. The poems are wonderfully illustrated and the quality of the book is excellent. Some of the poems are a bit of a challenge for my Year 3s due to the vocabulary choices and poetic devices, but they have enjoyed reading them so much! We have gotten so much out of this book, it was definitely worth the purchase. Would definitely recommend.

Bought as a text to use in a year 2 class. The kids love it and are always asking to borrow my special poem book.

Absolutely delightful poems written in the shape of the creature that each poem is about.So can be enjoyed as much by the parent or grandparent reading to a pre school child as well as the child, who may simply enjoy seeing the shape of the animal - as they’re being introduced to poetry.

It is actually calming and peaceful and it was all good I recommend it.But there was just one problem it was kind of hard to read some of the poems I couldn't see where one sentence connected to another.

This is a fabulous book – I was given a copy and loved it so much that I've just bought one for a friend's birthday. (It's aimed at children, but I think it also makes a brilliant gift for adults – the person I just bought it for is 35...) Not only is the poetry exceptional and absolutely mesmerising to look at (the book focuses on shape poems), but the book itself is printed on beautiful paper and in hardback with one colour printing. I cannot praise this book highly enough – for adults or for children.

The visual and verbal creativity of each poem is a great teaching tool.
