Does it mean its positive ovulation if it's a (not as dark red) but definantly there? The package said its negative if's its pink.

These predictors work by detecting a surge in the luteinizing hormone (LH surge). Your LH levels will vary throughout your cycle, but ovulation only occurs after the large LH surge. These variations can show up as faint lines at any time during your cycle, but during your LH surge the test line will be as dark or darker than the control line. If the test line is not as dark or darker than the control, then you are not in your LH surge.

Does anyone have directions for how to use these? When do you start? What time of day? My package arrived with no directions :(

It depends on your cycle. My directions told me that i needed to start testing at cycle day 10 which was 5 days after my period ended and i have a 30 day cycle. I didn't get a positive until cycle day 22 though because i ovulated late. If you know approximately when you ovulate, i would start testing 5 days before and as the line gets darker, start testing 2x a day.

Are the ovulation tests only good for 30 days after initially opening like the ones you buy in the drug store?

I've never used the drugstore ones, but I imagine these should last longer (depending on how many you buy/how often you are testing). Each test strip is individually packaged in a small pouch, including a little packet of dessicant. Since each one is sealed, you don't have to worry about an open package.
