Ivy global does a good job of making practice tests. no nonsense. things to note:- this is just 3 full PSAT tests- no study guides or review material- no explanationsI still recommend. nothing better to prepare for the real thing than lots of practice.

This book is good practice for my child who will be taking the PSAT. I also have a PSAT book that is more of a study guide with review and explanations. This book touches on what the test will be like, but the bulk of it is the practice exams. It comes with answer sheets to bubble in the answers and the subjects broken down by section. The format, to my understanding, is just like the actual exam.The questions seem to be comprehensive and cover a wide range of material that will be asked. Each section has a time limit for taking it. I had my child take each practice test as if it were really test day. We did this over the course of a month to get an idea of how it will go on the actual test. While it doesn't have detailed answers for the test, we could see definitely pinpoint strong and weak areas and figure out what should be studied most in the coming months. I think this book is a very useful tool for high school students so they are not taken by surprise when the test is placed in front of them.

My daughter used this and Barron's PSAT test prep book to prepare for her PSAT. She did not study too much for it but did well, so I think both books are useful. Although it’s not as detailed in its advice as the Barron’s PSAT test prep book, I feel that it is formatted a lot better for someone who already knows what to do for the PSAT and just wants some plain, simple practice tests. I am also extremely glad they decided to put the answers all in the back, instead of on the reverse of the pages after each sections like Barron’s, because you can’t accidentally see answers and ruin the entire section. I would recommend this book for its no-nonsense style and easy-to-use format.

My daughter is a very good student and a hard worker. But occasionally she gets over anxious before tests. With college coming, the biggest tests of her life are ahead of her. That’s where this PSAT book comes in. Taking these practice tests allayed her fears. She knows what to expect now and has proven to herself that she can do it. She was able to gain that confidence by practicing in a non-pressure situation. It has helped her by giving her the confidence of knowing what to expect and by proving to herself that she’s up to the task. Do your kid a favor and have them practice their SAT’s. They will do better when it’s time for the real thing.
