The best oil filter money can buy. Forget the rest.
The best oil filter out there. All synthetic glass media. Built corectly with the anti drain back valve near the threads. This way of its mounted where the threads are pointed down when mounted with the back end higher, as opposed to the filter hanging strait up and down or hanging rearwards, it functions corectly. Also has the best combo of filtering and flow imo. Perfect for slightly thicker oils like Redline. Built like a tank. Just the best filter and yes I've tried and tested them ALL. Trust me this is the way to go. This is basically the same as the Amsoil filter, both identical when taken apart, but cheaper and honestly when taken apart this was glued cleaner.I will say with a veey thin oil I'll use a Purolator Boss as the flow is slightly slower imo on those. But this is a better filter imo.

Royal Purple 10-2876 Oil Filter for Nissan 370z, 10-2867 (1" longer) also fits stock 370z but doesn't fit w/Mishimoto oil cooler
02/10/15 THIS ITEM WAS DEFECTIVE, same problem as all previous reviews with broken/loose valve inside that rattles. I had to purchase a replacement for this model 10-2876 locally that I inspected first to make sure it was not defective. Amazon still has a surplus of these broken filters that they are still sending out to unwitting customers but this defect only seems to plague this model number (10-2876) as I also purchased other Royal Purple filter models on Amazon at the same time as this one and all the other ones are fine. I would not suggest buying this one model through Amazon since they have been still sending defective ones for a few months now instead of doing a simple shake-test of these filters to weed out the bad ones from their remaining shelf stock. Now to review the working one that I purchased locally after returning the defective one to Amazon:Excellent stock-length upgraded synthetic extended life oil filter for a 370z which can go up 15,000 miles between changes for most cars. The Z's tend to run hot so most Z owners don't recommend going more than 7500 miles which is still great life for only $13. It works better/longer than the Mobil 1 equivalent, it is about the same price, and this has a silicone bypass valve inside instead of a rubber one like almost all other filters use so this brand should be more heat-resistant and work more consistently over a wider temp range than most other brands. This Royal Purple 10-2876 synthetic oil filter is the one that all fitting guides say to use in most Nissan cars, but the 10-2867 also fits and is about 1 inch longer and contains a larger surface area of filter material so more oil can flow through it per minute and it will hold more particles before it clogs up compared to this stock-length one. If you are using a remote oil cooler w/sandwich plate where the filter normally screws in, the longer filter may not fit so I'd suggest only using the longer filter on a stock setup until AFTER you measure exactly how much clearance you have between the end of the filter and surrounding swaybar/frame/tubes/etc.

The hardware is legit no cardboard in these filters. After almost a year of using rp oil filter I tried the k&n premium wrench off filter. just wanted to see how it performs and well I started to get foamy oil on the dipstick. Thought it might of been the new injen intake or the oil filter since I installed them at the same time. Turns out it was the oil filter I just changed my oil on Monday with a rp filter and today there's nothing but clean oil on the dipstick I am a disbeliever to pretty much everything but this time it was proven to me. Gtx 5w30 all the way plus some lucas heavy duty additive and lucas 2 stroke for the premix. My Rx8 is very smooth now and clean. I have rp syncromax in the tranny and rp 75w 90 in the diffy. I will not use any of rp motor oil tho its fully synthetic (fake oil) not good for rotors.

Oil Was Clean!
I use Royal Purple oil in all of my cars along with their filter. Last oil change after a year and a half, the person changing the oil said that the oil was clean, that it looked like new oil, so the filter does do its job and is worth the money.

Good filter
Royal Purple has a good reputation for quality automotive oil and filters, so I assume it's protecting my engine from wear. How do you really know?
