Contact Improvisation: An Introduction to a Vitalizing Dance Form

Reading this book is like dancing itself. It is filled with kinetic language, bringing the experience of the dance to the reader. Every chapter ends with original, thought provoking discussion questions and suggestions for further explorations for personal discovery. Highly recommended for both the beginner in contact improvisation and the seasoned dancer. The author also offers an honest assessment of the social and historical context for the dance form. Illuminating on every level.

Very good book. I am still reading it but so far the information is great. I am learning so much.

I fell in love with Contact Improv upon the first dance and for the first 3 months of practice was in awe and mystery of what it was all about ... and then having read this book was like the magic of the dance reveal itself to me with depth of meaning, life relating and subtle understandings only to further my love of this unique dance art form.  Reading this book was in itself a dance to be experienced.   I felt like I was in contact with Cheryl's words, ideas and subtle wisdoms!   If you're at all curious about Contact, dance, movement, or just the magic of life ...this is a must read!!!

Finally, a book that addresses the many facets of contact improvisation without simplifying the form. I recommend Pallant's book along with Sharing the Dance as two of the best resources available.

Excelente material sobre esta hermosa disciplina. Muy recomendable para aquellos que estén interesados en el tema. Lo he comprado aunque estuviera en inglés, dado el poco material disponible sobre este tema en español. El lenguaje es muuuy descriptivo y tengo que usar bastante más el diccionario que con otros libros en inglés, pero vale la pena porque está deliciosamente escrito.
