Decent book
I was pretty disappointed in this book, there were not many actual do it yourself articles but a lot more of what can be done by aftermarket companies. There was an interesting section on repairing a cracked steering wheel. It started out giving a great explanation and lot of photos, but when it came time to show the end results and the steps leading to the finished repair, there were no more photos. So I have no way of knowing how they recreated the grain or what it actually looked like. The section on convertible top replacement was way too brief. I have actually seen more detail in some of the car magazines when they run articles like that. The section on dash repair was basically like an ad for Just Dashes. It showed you the process they go through to recover a 1970 GTO dash, it was a reprint of an article from one of the car magazines so nothing new there. Most people know they can drop $1000 bucks and have Just Dashes recover their dash for them, so why not show a repair a home restorer can do? I happen to own a 70 GTO, so I know there is nothing the home restorer can do for that dash, so no need for that chapter. Even the section on dash gauge wiring; the author makes reference to how neatly he ran all the grounds through one wire, but doesn't bother showing what he did. It's more a book of ideas and less a book of how to.

Great tool to add to your toolbox
I bought this book probably 6 months ago, and it is full of great usefull information. The main reason I bought this was because I refused to pay someone 500 or more dollars to recover the rear seat of my 1969 Chevelle. I bought the material to do it for around 200 dollars and paid less than 20 dollars for this book, did it myself and everyone asks me where I got my seats done and I tell them I did it and they are baffled because they paid someone 1000s of dollars to do theirs for them. Next I have to do my headliner and cant wait to get into it.

Below Average Product Quality
For $30 this soft-bound book was a disappointment. I expected to get glossy pages with color photos and clear black print. Instead I got what must be almost a bound photocopy, with dim grayish print and black and white photos. I have paid less for good quality color photo car books from this same publisher. This one was an unexpected shock. Granted, the information conveyed is what I was after, but the presentation leaves much to be desired. I have two other soft-bound car books on the way, I hope they don't turn out the same.

More Reference than Restoration
Bought this book for restoring an interior of a 1960's American car. Regretfully, this book is more about referring you to sources for restoration services than restoring something yourself. I was specifically interested in dashboard restoration. The book did a very good job of explaining how Just Dashes restores a dashboard, using specially designed equipment and materials. Nothing described how you can do it yourself. If you plan on having others do your restoration it may be helpful, but you'll be disappointed if you are a do-it-yourself person.

Dis-satisfied
I own four (4) 1966 Muscle cars and one 1976. This book was worthless as far as helping me remove items such as dashboards, and other items. I need and want to be able to remove dash, get to instruments, wiring. I need to remove door panels, due maintenance on 47 year old window cranks, etc. and this book did not provide. I do not plan to tackle big jobs such as outlined. The four cars are two 1966 Buick Wildcat convertibles, and two 1966 Pontiac Grand Prix's.
