A good portion of my workout routines consist of Pilates and the mat that has been used for a couple of years now no longer offered good floorwork support. I took some time to research articles discussing the various types of mats and went to the stores to look at some in person. Not being a professional of Pilates and working out mainly at home, my only criterias were to find a mat that was sturdy enough to keep the bones on the back from feeling the hardwood floor, won't easily rip, and be within a comfortable price range. And so far after having used it for a couple of weeks, I'm happy with the purchase. There is no longer the need for extra cushioning for the back and I can work out skin-to-mat painlessly.Note that when the mat arrived, there was indentation from the straps but that affects the outer area, so it wasn't an issue. It may be too thick for certain yoga practices as the hands sink slightly in plank or downward dog mode. But this also isn't one of those mats that has the thickness measurements but squishes thin upon pressure it hasn't deterred me from such moves. My only minor concern at the moment is whether the mat might stretch out over time as the white line is slightly off alignment on one end; not enough to take away from the satisfaction of the purchase.

This is an excellent exercise mat. I do Pilates 10 to 14 times a week and have been trying out other new mats but was not happy until I found this one. It provides excellent cushion for those delicate bones. It is also very supportive at the same time. It does not squish in or leave indentations. It remains stable and does not move. Also it is smooth closed-cell so that your feet will not stick as they do with most mats. I am 66 and have been practicing Pilates for 6 years and this mat makes a new and welcome work-out. I believe it will hold up over time. I would also recommend it for other types of floor work. Also works well for rolling on tennis balls. A great mat for home and to carry to the gym.

I love this mat and I have looked at a lot of them. Thick and comfortable, yet doesn't slide at all--even on carpet. The center line is a nice touch and it looks very professional.I wanted one to use in the morning as the sun comes up in my living room. I often do other work outs in the basement-- where I have a number of different type of mats stacked one over the other to give adequate protection on a hard floor. This alone might have sufficed there as well, but I'll gladly keep it handy for a warmer, early morning alternative upstairs! This is the only mat I have seen so far which is not made of some cheap material and is really thick - 15 mm. It is also quite long so easy enough to use for tall people. I use it for Pilates.It comes with folding straps and not carrying strapsIts soft to touch, cushiony but firm and very easy to clean. Even my one year old likes to stand on it and play tippy toes. The only issue I see so far is that the one of the rolled ends' still hasn't retained its shape and looks wrinkled. Other than that, its a GREAT buy.

I started doing my Pilate exercises again so I wanted to replace my old mat. Did a lot of searching and reading reviews and I took a chance and bought this one. It is the best mat ever that I have purchased, excellent support for your knees and elbows. The line on the mat keeps you in place, I have hard wood floors; this mat does not slip at all. It rolls up and comes in a mesh carrying case for easy storing.

This mat is exactly what I was wanting for my Pilates class. I'm impressed with it's quality. It's nice and thick to give me the protection I need. The skin over my tailbone was being rubbed raw with my thin yoga mat. I had a thick mat home, but pieces flaked off when I used it for Pilates. I don't have that problem at all with this mat. It's very durable. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

this mat is large and very thick making it very nice to step onto and sit on and do the poses it comes with elastic straps when you roll it up it does not have any chemical odors. I really love it
