DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK, DOES NOT COVER EXAM MATERIAL
The lesser of the issues with this study guide is that it is absolutely riddled with spelling errors, grammar errors, math errors and general inaccuracies. Equations are incorrect, definitions dont make sense because of misused words, so on. |That's not the big issue with this "study guide" though. This study guide is full of just general finance knowledge. The SIE exam is not as general as the information as the book. The exam asks very specific questions that this study guide does not even get CLOSE to covering.Kaplan is your best bet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS BOOK. If you rely just on this book for studying, you will fail. Luckily I have a degree in finance and it all worked out, but I can tell you that not a single ounce of information in this book helped with any of the questions on the actual SIE.

Untrustworthy
I encountered a number of mistakes or confusing material in this book. Example - question 4, page 27. The "correct answer" on page 28 actually contradicts the correct answer description. In many places, the figures / graphs are not located next to the text describing those concepts. Example - page 45 & 46: these figures are not explicitly mentioned. "Long Straddle" is mentioned 20 pages later (page 74), "The Collar" is never mentioned, "The Bear Put Spread" is not mentioned, and the "butterfly spread" is not well described. Besides "The History of Moss" this was the most painful book have ever read. Also - before I even read this book, I wanted to mention that I passed by CFA investment foundations course on the first attempt. I was really hoping this book would strengthen my understanding and confidence for the SIE exam. Not so much.

Good book
It does what it says it will do... gives you basic knowledge of the FINRA SIE exam. Did you know that you don't have to be sponsored by a broker dealer to take this exam. You can take this on your own, its a way to show your potential employers that you have the basic knowledge of the securities market. Good luck! I would recommend this book to anyone.

What a mess!
If your looking for a straight forward test prep book this is not it. It looks like it is, but it's not. The authors of this book love to name a term, one that you will surely need to know for the test, then either give you some history on the term or tell you what its net effect is. What they all too rarely do is name a term and then tell what it is (then, secondly, tell you what the net effect is and then, perhaps, give a short history lesson). For a business and area of concern that is so mathematical and linear these people have chosen a stunningly non-linear way of explaining things. And if you don't like terms to be explained (sort of) using terms that aren't themselves explained (sort of) until many pages later this is not the book for you.

This is not what I expected
The quiz is useful for exam, but it is just 100 pages with so few contents and charges over $40! Now I bought a examzone book for SIE and that one is what i need. I have to say this book does not worth that much money. It should be priced within $20.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK
The number one issue is the litany of factual inaccuracies. For example, it says the maximum contribution amount for a 401(k) is $18,500 but then when you're tested on it at the end of the chapter the answer is $19,000. It says the minimum denomination for a T-bill is $10,000 when it's $100. The list goes on and on.Not to mention the ridiculous amount of grammatical errors and misspellings.Overall I learned a lot from reading this book, but I would have been far better served by getting a different book that I can actually rely on.

Good and Condensed materials
Overall, good and condensed material. The book was easy to read and understand. However I won’t solely rely on this book to pass the exam as some materials were “too sensed” and lack of practice exam questions. I do recommend this book as a conjunction of other securities training course/book available online such as STC, mainly because other courses cover in depth and has more practice questions available to help you feel confident before exam day.

Don't waste your money!
This 100 page drive-by is not a a text I would trust my future career with....For me there is a lot of new verbiage..........NO GLOSSARY...NO DEFINITIONS....This would have been a huge start. There are important facts that are misstated " 2019 401k limit $18,500 up $500 from 2018 " WRONG....and then its one of the test questions in the book....grammar, spells, run on......a very big waste of time and money...I went to FINRA.ORG and took their online test....very little covered in the book!
