Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

This is an absolutely tremendous little set. I've done some make-up in my time, but I can control it, and one of the things that has never held temptation for me is contouring. I'm old enough to have salivated over the things Kevyn Aucoin could do with contouring, but the Kardashian-inspired obsession with the stuff just wasn't my bag. Also, I'm fair. Really, really fair. Even a glance at a pot of bronzer leaves me looking like I've been in an MMA title fight. But things change, and I needed to try contouring for reasons, but there was no way I was going to spend bags and bags of cash on a contouring palette I may never use. Enter the NYX Highlight & Contour Palette. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. There's a fine line between make-up that is poor quality (and barely pigmented) and high-quality make-up (with too much pigment), and this walks that line spectacularly. It's pigmented enough that you are never left frustrated by the lack of color, but not SO pigmented that you can't build the colors for better blending. There are shimmers AND mattes, which is very awesome, and while I was a little nervous about how dark the lightest dark shade would be, I find that with a moderate hand, it works just fine. Works well on different skin tones, too; my mother is a light Mediterranean tan with green undertones, and the palette compliments her coloring as well. The only thing I find subtracts from the quality is the staying-power. It wears well for a few hours, but smudges and deteriorates thereafter. I'm not sure it's something you would really want to try to re-apply. Also, I've really oily skin, especially in summer, so that probably has loads to do with the endurance. The reviews about broken boxes and smashed powders had me preparing for the worst when it arrived, but this little gem came in a bubble-mailer, inside another padded envelope. No displacement, no broken palettes. As I mentioned, I've never tried any other contouring palettes but I can't imagine the pricier ones being any better than this.

These pallets are hard to find in stores since the new trend is cream. I love the quality of the powder and how well it blends. The color pallette is perfect for all skin shades and the highlighters work well for both evening outings and everyday makeup.

I have several and have gifted many to others. If you have uneven skin tones as I do then this palate is for you too. You feel like a real makeup artist. Easy to remove too.

I can’t say enough great things about NYX. The prices are incredible for the quality. I found this exact palette at Ulta for $25, I bought this for $13 on Amazon and it’s worth every penny. There is a little fallout in the pan when applying with a brush, but nothing you wouldn’t see with any other powders. The color range is great for all skin tones. You do NOT need a lot, a little goes a long way. Start soft and build up! However, with any palette that caters to all skin tones you will most likely have a color or 2 that won’t work for you, this is not a designated/ specific skin tone palette, you can find a “fair skin, medium or dark” palette elsewhere but this is not one of them. So just beware, when I run out of my favorite powder in the pan I’m tempted to use the others that I haven’t touched but don’t!! You’ll end up too dark and muddy or vice verse. I am no professional but I find this palette great and comparable to a $45 Lorac Pro contour palette! It is hard to find a powder palette that offers contour shades without shimmer highlights, this is just what I was looking for.

I’m new to contouring, so I picked up this NYX set to give it a try—and I love it so far! The shades are very blendable and easy to work with, even for beginners. The packaging feels high quality, and the tutorial on the back of the box was super helpful. Great value and user-friendly!

Beautiful variety of colors. This palette is amazing! If you never contoured before and always wanted to , this is the palette for you. So easy to use. This is my go to and I recommend this palette.

I am happy to recommend this product! Nice variety of shades to choose from, and it blends well using a sponge. I like that the highlights are not too glittery but add a soft sheen. This is as nice to use as some more expensive brands I’ve had.

This contouring makeup pallet is perfect, has good contouring colours and the powder is high-quality.

As a beginner I was a bit worried to try it, but the other reviews convinced me. I don't regret buying this palette. very good! as much on the highlight side than the shadow side
