Robert August 5 Complete Skateboard (Natural, 7.5-Inch)

Decent board. I bought it, but returned it only because it was a little more cumbersome than i wanted. I bought it because i liked the fact it had a kick tail, but it was little to heavy and long. It handled pretty well the way it was set up stock. It rode a bit high because of the need for wheel clearance on turns and no cut outs for the wheels in the board. The board i ended up buying did not have a kicktail, but does have drop through trucks, wheel cut outs, turns excellent and sharp and rides at a nice low height. Otherwise this board is pretty nice. The grip tape had excellent grip too.

The Surf One longboards are unsurpassed as a top-notched cruisers. This board was designed and built for extreme comfort. The board has great flex to absorb bumps. The risers are thick and absorb shocks well. The bushings are designed for a comfortable ride as well. The bearings are high performance Bones Reds. Three spun super well when it arrived; I think I need to lube one of them when I purchase some lubricant. The trucks and board come with lifetime warranties. The wheels are super soft for a comfortable but grippy ride. It is also a fast board because of the tall wheels. Wheel bite is practically impossible due to the thick risers and bushings. Although this board is about 44" long it still makes sharp turns due to the short wheelbase. So, what you have is a longboard set up to be a smooth cruiser that is fast and turns sharply. This board is a perfect cruiser for anyone under maybe 185 pounds. It may not be a good choice for heavier people unless you have been skating for a while because it is not set up as much as some other boards for stability. You could make changes to the wheels, risers and bushings for about $55 for a more stable set-up. The price has been cut in half! I guess this was done as a marketing scheme. Maybe Amazon wants people to realize just how great this board is in terms of function and quality so the word can get out to others. The deal was too good for me to resist. At this price you could change the set-up as I suggested earlier for maybe freeriding. I am glad I bought it.

Overall this is a great board for cruising. It rides a bit high off the ground because of the half inch risers, but other than that, It is a solid board.

I own a Surf One Robert August II Complete Longboard but I bought this one for my girlfriend as it was less expensive. To be honest with you I like this one better as it feels stiffer when you are standing on it which I think makes it easier to ride. It is also higher off the ground. I like both honestly. I am very happy with Surf One longboards. I have 1, my girlfriend has one, one of my friends have one, and today I am buying one for my sister for her birthday.I will say I don't do any thing crazy on these boards, so I can't say how they handle say in extreme downhill situations or anything like that, but for getting around campus they are great and I always get compliments on them because they look pretty unique. Overall I highly recommend this board.

Well, I can see why this price was reduced to $35. Despite many positive reviews, this is a pretty crappy board. However, if you break it apart, each component can be repurposed for something better. Randal trucks are decent, so I used it on another higher quality deck. If you were to buy Randal II trucks separately, they would run you 45. The bearings were so de-oiled and crusty, that they rolled like chains. Chucked them. The deck made for a good piece of art, so I hung it up in the garage. The wheels were toy quality, so I gave them to my dogs for enrichment. And the risers became excellent coasters that actually helped kept my beer cold.

My 12 yr old ordered this for his bday & loves it. Easy to maneuver. Rides smooth. This is a good buy!

I bought this for my 13 year old son 8 months ago and have been very happy with it.I just took it for a spin myself. I'm not a skateboard rider. The wheels are very smooth and long-rolling. The deck is very stable yet curls easily. I'm 5'10" at 160 lbs with lower back trouble and my daughter told me I shouldn't ride it, that I'd hurt myself.I went the long way around the block and enjoyed every minute of it. I came back to amazon to see about ordering another.

I guess I may be spoiled since my first longboard is the Arbor Pintail bamboo one with 9" trucks, high quality bearings, and 72mm wheels. This one from Surf One has a cool design, but when I stepped on it, I could tell the Arbor was more solid even with more flex.Overall, though, this one from Surf One is fine.
